If Ghost and JVR are the basis of a Gaudreau trade then I completely give up on Treliving haha.
Sounds more like Philly's wishlist.

Eklund must really think Tre is an idiot...

Ghost= 4.5/year for 2 more
JVR= 7/year for 2 more
Nolan Patrick=RFA
P. Myers= RFA
1st 2019
for Gaudreau= 6.75 for 1 more season
Ryan= 3.125 for 1 more season
Kylington= RFA
We would still have room coming off the books for Tkachuk resigning. Then we have even more LD to trade (one of Ghost or Hanifin) and could also look at peddling JVR somewhere else if he is producing.

I was listening to the radio and they had a sportswriter out of Minnesota on, and they said it was highly unlikely the Wild would fully rebuild and would instead focus on retooling. Basically the fact that they just signed Brodin and (recently) Spurgeon to long term contract (both guys older) and there's little interest in moving Parise and Suter for now, means they probably are not rebuilding any time soon.

Good to know. I would have thought the last two moves they've made (Staal/Johansson) and not re-signing Koivu was the rebuild direction.
They are just like the Flames, good enough to make the playoffs but not good enough to do damage.

Yeah I agree, though getting Myers is IMO the big ticket. The other pieces are just there...
Don't like the rumor and normally wouldn't buy it at all, but this reeks of a flames style deal that I will loath, and Eklund is actually only ever right about one team in the league.

As for that Philly rumor, JVR is paid too much for what he offers. If they are wanting to unload Ghost AND JVR to the Flames, then we better be able to unload Lucic with Gaudreau. And, they'd be adding. That's how bad the rumor is.
If that rumor was even 1% true (because Eklund), you'd have to think that some 3rd party team with a crap load of cap space would be of assistance in a Flyers/Flames trade.

Still like Konecny. Patrick is a huge question mark because of his head.

3 team deals are abhorrently difficult to pull off in the NHL though. I think the quickest path to achieving what you're talking about is to just accept the trade then try and peddle JVR somewhere else on the side.

Ghost, Frost, 23 is what I could see them offering. Not that interested in that package.
Ghost makes 2.25 less than Johnny. If the Flames can dump Ryan and use Frost in that role they will gain 2.2M
That would bring them over $20M in cap space with 13 players signed.
Hall=$8M
Markstrom=$6M
$6M to fill out another 7-8 players including Mangipane. Makes me think Hanifin would be moved in a deal that opens up more cap space? With Ghost on the team there would be another logjam at LD

Ghost can play RD. Giordano can babysit him like he did with Hamilton. The top 4 can be Hanifin - Andersson and Giordano - Ghost. Ghost, like Gustafsson, would be on PP1. He had a down here but he can still QB a power play better than most.

I did read the convo, my post was in regards to his point about Hanifin being what he is at this point.
All the was he “hyped like Jones” talk is honestly just useless bickering. Like why does it matter if he received the same hype or not? It doesn’t.

LA is scouring for a young LD....
Hanifin for Kaliev and Kupari and one of their 2nds?
As for the Philly rumor....
Nolan Patrick has to be in the deal. Just has to. Logic it down to however you want to feel comfortable with it. Call him a throw in or whatever. He Has to come in a philly trade. Hell even try to trade for his rights without being in a johnny trade.

It's not terrible, but I don't love it. You do have to assume we're going to take some salary back if we trade Gaudreau... at least those guys only need to get paid for a couple more years.
Wouldn't be shocked if Philly rather moved Frost than Patrick. And I'm torn on that front too as I think Patrick should be the better player, if he's finally healthy. That might be a big IF.

Thats weird as they had a deal to get rid of Parise at the deadline that fell through.
I can't imagine they aren't looking at moving that salary given recent moves.

The scary part, is that the only team Eklund does have any kind of inside scoop on it's Philly (not that he's necessarily accurate there).
That package is terrible. Hasn't Gostisbehere struggled for a few seasons after his coming out party rookie season? Thought he's been passed by on the depth chart by so many of the great young d there.
Their first pick is a late pick, so that's not that high value a chip.
JVR,lol.
If the flames/treliving, make this trade in an attempt to maximize the return, with regards how good next year's team is, instead of considering high value futures, I'll be pretty annoyed. It would likely turnout very similar to the phaneuf deal....
