Well they are looking for a top forward, so Dumba as the key piece in a package for Gaudreau could make sense.

I have a feeling that Valimaki will be in our top after 20 games.
But even so we need more depth. That blue line would be one injury away from being abysmal.

If his play earns him a spot in the top 4, that would be wonderful but it doesn't make sense to go into the season expecting that to happen.

I agree, I’d just be looking for a cheap number 4-5 guy and hoping we use the extra cap space for a forward or a goalie upgrade.

If we’re trading for Dumba, two other pieces of interest for me would be RD Calen Addison and the 2020 1st. There’s also Kaprizov, but I doubt Minnesota would just trade him because of how long it took to get him.

I would love to get Luke Kunin, though the Wild would not want to part with him. He shoots right, skates well, good hands, and has a nasty streak. Only 22 years young.

I won’t pretend to be an expert on Beckman, but I don’t think he’s even a center.
Also, Pronman recently ranked him as the sixth best prospect in the Minnesota system. Not bad, but that’s pretty far from a sure fire # 1 center. We’ve all seen mid range picks rip up the junior leagues before and not turn into much at the pro level.

Id been keeping tabs on Beckman before his draft year. He was a C/LW last time I checked so I apologize, didn't know he went LW full time. Either way, he's got top liner written all over him.
I wanted the Flames to take him last draft, if they can get him trade, yeah that'd be great.
Make a big deal and get Dumba, Beckman and Ek.

Is Dumba that sought after though?
Every time I watch him, I see him make bad reads, dumb plays and take bad penalties.
I like the truculence, but he's kinda just a smaller, right shot Flames era Phaneuf.
He's also kind of small and has trouble with big forwards.
And he's $6 million cap hit!

I'm big on him because at every single level he has played in his 2nd season is essentially double his 1st. Last year, no exception. You want a player who can do that. Proves he has the intelligence and work ethic to perform to the level of his peers or better. Honestly, people should be higher on him.
