I would be too if Lehner’s rumoured contract has set the market. He ain’t getting 5x5.

I wouldn't be shocked if this offseason, we:
 - trade for Murray
 - keep Monahan and Gaudreau
 - see Brodie and Hamonic sign elsewhere
 - sign a UFA D

Basically same lineup as last year except in net we go with Murray and Rittich.
 On D:

 Hanifin - Andersson
 Valimaki - Vatanen
 Giordano - Mackey
 Kylington

 Hall signs in Colorado

 Flames acquire Murray and McCann.

McCann has been rumored to be an a**hole and is once again on the block looking like he's going to go to his 4th NHL team as a 24-year old.

I doubt the Flames have interest in him, considering character is one of their highest priorities.

I don't see a ton of resemblance, honestly. They both have great hard wristers but Jones was a lot more effective physically. I don't envision Jake ever having an impact like Jones had against the Canucks in 2015.

My 9 year old says the exact opposite. Both have the same legitimacy as an insider.

Virtanen was one of their better players this PO IMO.

Wat. Again, I'm a Virtanen supporter, but: Wat? He looked like garbage for what was expected of him by management and fans.

Edit - A lot of how he looked in the bubble likely had to do with coming into the bubble out of playing shape.

He's a certified prick. He's one of those guys whose attitude could very well play them out of the NHL before their ability does. I know the Gudbranson trade was a garbage trade, but part of the reason that trade happened was the Canucks wanted to get rid of McCann asap.

Flyers more than anything but yeah, even a hack like him, and let's be fair, the guy has perfected the TMZ gossip style pages of hockey and found a niche that he gets paid to do. Cant say I blame him.

I'll read his stuff and he does have a nice little network of reporters he works with. Its fun more than anything.

Hanifin in a top pairing role is asking for another mediocre year.

Having the same lineup of forwards all but guarantees another average at best year.

I could see a fit between the Rangers and Flames for a massive blockbuster, probably based around Monahan (and Hanifin or Gio?)

I wasn't saying I was hoping for or excited about it. Just my guess on what happens and how the d pairs share minutes

No it doesn't. The team was the top team in the West a few years ago with a weaker lineup. Bring in the right coach to implement the right system and the forward group is more than fine.

They're going to be the fourth best forward group in a division that the bottom three teams are legit hot garbage. No coach will change that.
