He’s a UFA. If he wants to insist on a NMC, he can. I’m sure someone else will given him one.

Why would Markstrom sign that deal though? He will certainly have other offers with movement security.

That's true. But the Canucks can still try. I'm just saying that would be my plan if I was Benning. Obviously, he can't sign Markstrom to a contract with a NMC. But Markstrom may not care if he gets enough term and dollars.
