We're also in complete control of our own destiny with all 10 games against the Yankees coming up in our final 25.
We are also 1 game back of the Twins to be the top #3 seed.
For those wondering, this is the remaining schedules at a glance for the Jays, Yanks, Twins and Tigers.
Blue Jays:- Red Sox (5 games: 4 road, 1 home-ish, 1 doubleheader)
- Yankees (10 games: 3 road, 7 home)
- Mets (3 games: 3 home)
- Phillies (4 games: 3 road, 1 home-ish, 1 doubleheader)
- Orioles (3 games, 3 home)
Yankees:- Mets (1 game: 1 road)
- Orioles (8 games: 4 road, 4 home, 1 doubleheader)
- Blue Jays (10 games: 7 road, 3 home)
- Red Sox (3 games: 3 road)
- Marlins (3 games: 3 home)
Twins:- Tigers (7 games: 1 road-ish, 6 home, 1 doubleheader)
- Cardinals (2 game:, 2 road, 1 doubleheader)
- Indians (3 games: 3 home)
- White Sox (4 games: 4 road)
- Cubs (3 games: 3 road)
- Reds (3 games: 3 home)
Tigers:- Twins (7 games: 6 road, 1 home-ish, 1 doubleheader)
- Brewers (2 games: 2 home)
- Cardinals (2 games: 2 road, 1 doubleheader)
- White Sox (3 games: 3 road)
- Royals (6 games: 4 road, 2 home)
- Indians (4 games: 4 home)
Make of this what you will.

Twins schedule is probably the hardest out of all of them.
Fangraphs has the Jays bullpen with the highest WAR in the MLB. 4th in ERA and FIP. Pretty impressive.

The Yankees have the easiest schedule IMO. But the Jays' sched is pretty good too, as long as they can hold their own with the Yankees.

I was a bit worried how a guy like Ryu would do in the AL East not being a power arm against these lineups in some good hitters parks, but he has been really solid in his last few outings. I still appreciate guys who can mix things up and hit their spots to keep hitters off balance, much like Estrada could when he was on. But Ryu is certainly a step up on him, and seems to be pretty calm on the mound. Which for a young team that will make mistakes like the Jays probably has some other intrinsic value in that the team didn't come unglued and let the game get away from them.

I was about to add the Astros, but their schedule is so weak that it's not even worth adding, I can't see them not finishing at least 4th or 5th in the AL.
They have 7 games against the A's and Dodgers, the rest are against Texas, Arizona and Seattle.

Ryu is a Stud. Breath of fresh air.
Really excited to have Walker in the fold too.

Anyone else think that Villar had money on the Marlins the last two games? Some of those plays were beyond bad. Like I knew he didn't think the game well, but I mean come on some of those mistakes looked like they were on purpose.
In other news, the Jays look poised to break out the 6 man rotation:
Ryu
Walker
Stripling
Roark
Anderson
Ray

I think they'll keep Ray in the pen until they know what they have.

I forgot how great it is to have a true ace on the mound. It really is amazing how valuable top tier pitching is to a team. Any other pitcher starts for the Jays yesterday and I don't think we'd see many wins (if any).

I think it was the second inning...
Batter hits a pop up but gets on because the ball drops between 3 players. Ryu doesn't blink.
He gets the next batter to hit into a potential double play. But Villar throws it away and MIA is 1st and 2nd with one out, instead of the inning being over. Ryu doesn't blink, he just turns to home plate and says '#### it, I'll just strike them out', and proceeds to strike out the next two batters and then calmly walks to the dugout.
Jays win by one run.
Most pitchers fall apart there and give up runs.

Brewers picked up Vogelbach. They also DFA'd Smoak.
Jays must have been in trade talks where the other team had interest in acquiring Tellez. Otherwise the whole Vogelbach "era" makes very little sense.

Help, save, whatever.

I'm definitely surprised by how much of a badass Ryu is. When the Jay's traded for him I thought he had the jokester personality. But on the mound he is all business. He's an assassin out there.
I really liked how after he made the snag in the comebacker he stuck out his tongue. He's got the swagger. But it's a quiet confidence.

Walker with a great 1st inning. 6 innings of shutout ball to start his Blue Jays tenure.

Solo homer for Bradley Jr.
Is it just me or does Walkers velocity seem down this start compared to his last one?

My guess is he was a piece we were offering for a higher end starter that we didn't end up getting (Musgrove, Bundy, Lynn, Clevinger)

Jansen is just terrible at the plate. Like what the hell is wrong with that guy?
Most of the bats have gone cold lately.
Yankees lose!

Ha. Yankees turn for the epic collapse.
Yeah, the Jays catchers are a blackhole of suck on offence this year. Never thought I’d actually miss Josh Thole.
