I wonder how much of the goaltender interference call was due to Markstrom complaining about the Carrier (I think) slash on a 2 on 1 earlier.

Shaping up to be a good third period. The second was very entertaining.

Well if complaining to the refs resulted in follow-up penalties, there would be 3 or 4 guys in the box all the time

Ugh. Vancouver is going to be good the next few years. The West will become a tough road trip

Fastest major sport in the world and toughest to officiate.

The refs get 90-95 % of it dead on right.

I feel that they are under way too much scrutiny.

I'd keep Talbot.

I still think whoever signs Markstrom is going to pay too much for too long and end up regretting it.

The West is already tough. The quality of hockey has been great in these playoffs, apart from Arizona that is.

Has been the case for, well, about ever.

Easy to criticize the refs, but Ias someone who has officiated Midget games, I couldn't imagine keeping up with this level of pace.

I bet 99% of people couldnt even keep track of secondary assists let alone penalties, goals, positioning, etc

Sorry, by west I mean Canadas western trip.

Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver.

Rough trip

In terms of the hughes, makar, heiskenen talk

Per the fancy stats

Hughes is the best at even strength offense, but makar and heiskenen are close
Heiskenen by far best at even strength defense, way ahead of hughes and makar
Makar is best in the pp, 99th percentile in league for d men, hughes is excellent too, heiskenen is average
Heiskenen is a good PK'er, either two don't do it

I don't think 2nd assists are a major concern for them, nor should they be. I used to get an additional 5-10 points a year just by yelling at the ref "from 2, from 2!"

Yes, hard game to officiate. I don't think that means we can't complain on bad calls though

Based on these stats and your eye, how do you rank them?

Canucks bias aside...

Ah, yeah. That trip could definitely be tougher than it has been the last few years.
