Well, we need a third and deciding set as Novak takes set 2 6-3

Ugh, Djoker up a break in set 3 after Milos was up a break earlier in this set.

Milos has two chances left to break Novak as Djoker is serving at 4-3

Milos has a break point, but just couldn't cash in. It was a fine week from Milos regardless, but Novak just too strong on the big points.

Double career Golden Masters. Incredible achievement. Perhaps not a Grand Slam GOAT. But this does help in the tennis GOAT argument for Djokovic.

He could well end up with the most grand slams when it is all said and done. I don't know who is going to stop him from #18 at the US Open.

Thing is, he's not any younger. Medvedev can give him a tough time. I suppose it depends on how quickly others can get into game form.

What's even more nuts.... He needs one more Cincinnati and one more Monte Carlo for a TRIPLE career Golden Masters. I truly cannot fathom that.

I missed the match, was playing tennis, but what changed in the 2nd set? Was it more Milos play falling off or Djokovic picking up his play?

Hopefully Milos can take some positives instead of dwell on the negatives. I hope we see him make a deep run next week.

Default 2020 Tennis Thread

I’m skeptical all of this especially coming from Djoker. I won’t believe this group wants equal pay for women’s tennis until it’s an actual fact.

If they were fighting for equality for all players they wouldn’t be excluding female players.

If Andy Murray is skeptical I’m skeptical. He’s the most forward thinking inclusive player on the tour.

Imo, this is Pospisil's brain child. Djokovic obvs supports it.

I agree with lower ranked players getting more money in tournaments, and their intentions seem well. However, Djokovic's intentions seemed well when he launched the Adria Tour. I remain skeptical, and as Bigtmac pointed out how come there are no women?

Also I imagine with what's gone on this year, tournaments would be reluctant to give more money to players when most of them were either cancelled or played without fans.

Good on Pospisil to clarify it. I didn't know that there were discussion stretching back to last year involving 70 of the top 100 men's and women's players. Djokovic brings the name recognition, but Pospisil is the key driver IMO. I hope Murray will sign up if he feels that PTPA is making an honest effort to involve women. I have no reason to doubt that Pospisil isn't doing so. Adding Murray would be a huge get for the PTPA.

Side note, I'm proud that Pospisil is doing this. He knows first hand the struggles of a player ranked 100 and over. Good on him for fighting for his fellow player.
