That is brutal for Lindholm and his girlfriend, honestly can’t imagine being a country away trapped in a bubble and finding out my wife/gf was pregnant back at home.
Then only to get back home with her and find out the horrible news.
My condolences with them for sure, having been through a miscarriage with my wife I can say that the roller coaster of emotions at a time like that is just unbearable.

Weird narrative to create when Tkachuk also specifically said: "I couldn’t believe some of the criticism some of my teammates were getting. Especially Johnny and Mony…it really makes me sick and pisses me off honestly. They produced more than me, so put the blame on me.”

Rhett and Pinder were talking about this on the FAN this morning. If anything they said it strengthens the comments from Tkachuk because he wasn’t blowing smoke. Yes the top players could have been better but he disagrees with the hate being spewed by the fanbase towards the top players.
Monahan, Gaudreau didn’t step up but he doesn’t agree with the hate that many fans are projecting towards those players. Tkachuk was pleased with how the Bennett line and Rasmus/Talbot all leveled up their games during the playoffs
How does Francis has a job in the media still? He was dumb during the Sutter years, and hasn't come across any better since, though he's even more smug somehow...

Francis just trying to stir up drama. I think most people would agree that the players Tkachuk mentioned had really good playoff runs. They deserved props for their efforts.

That Lindholm news is absolutely horrible. Wish them both the best in such tough times.
That's really heartbreaking stuff. Can't imagine how he must have felt being inside a bubble unable to be with her, and to have to perform for a bunch of schmucks like us with beers in our hands who criticize his game as we sit our on chairs.
Hope him and his family can pull through this.

He used to do Page 6 for the Sun, so reading more then a couple sentences of a quote to get full context is far too much time and effort.
I think he’s definitely trying to turn himself into the Calgary version Steve Simmons (who was here, what, 25+ years ago?) and carve a niche in the media here, hoping that someone out in Toronto likes his 3 peice suits and his stirring of the pot...and he can land the job he had that one season in Saturday night intermissions.

I would say he has shown a commitment to the game and his teammates that is big time leadership material. It’s nice that fans like yourself recognize that.

He would fit in the Toronto media like a glove as they seem to like that abrasive style of reporter.
I’ll never forget when I volunteered at the Shaw charity classic for the 2nd year in 2014 (I was a standard bearer in 2013!) and I was a Marshal in 2014. In 2014 though I also signed up for being a caddy to one of the Amateurs in the groupings that went out with a pro in the first 2 days, the pro I ended up going with was Chip Beck and it was awesome apart from the guy that I Caddied winning a wedge set and adding them to his already 14 clubs bag lol. Anyways before I went out there was Eric Francis and I couldnt help but strike up a conversation about the Flames and how exciting Monahan was in his rookie year, he told me the it was good to see but we needed a lot more pieces. I brought up Gaudreau and how he scored that goal in the last game against the Nucks and how excited I was following him through his college seasons after being drafted and he scoffed at me! He said that Johnny was a long shot at best and I told him Johnny would play meaningful hockey that year. It was the greatest feeling ever seeing Johnny shine that year and Eric has held a grudge against him since the very start; I even remember how smug he was when Johnny was pointless in his first 5 games and how he was right that he needed to go to the AHL and then Johnny scores that wrap round goal against the Jets and never looks back.
It is truly maddening to see how much disrespect Johnny gets from CANADIAN media on a CANADIAN team. Watch the Jets series I could understand why the calls seemed to be a little bias towards the Jets, it never really shocks me when it’s Louie Debrusk calling but Cuthbert was annoying at times. Especially the Dallas series..... the calls all seemed to be centred around the stars between whistles or coming back from breaks and if it was about the Flames it was a negative take. With Eric Francis I’m not shocked anymore, he’s a hack and if Johnny does move on I would look at idiots like Francis who take blatant liberties.
Look I don’t want to have a journalist like Staples or the other fanboys in Edmonton who both serve and drink the koolaid they’ve been having for years but I also don’t want to see constant flybys from them either and Francis deals unprofessional blows to the team he’s assigned to report on at a nauseating rate.
I don't want nice guys - I want winners. Our D is the friendliest in the NHL (on and off the ice).
Just gotta jump into free agency and a couple a trades and lets see what we can do!
Targets should be:
Rasmus Ristolainen (1st in the league for hits by a defenceman)
Radko Gudas (12th in the league for hits by a defenceman)
Oliver Ekman-Larsson (21st in the league for hits by a defenceman)
