19th, unless the Habs win 6 more games, then it would be 18th.

This one is certainly right up there with the worst...although the game 7 loss to the Ducks in 2006 still hurts. I was at that game and it was soul crushing.

In tonight's game the Flames at least looked pretty solid for 20 minutes before the wheels fell off in the 2nd.

Everyone likes to trash him but the kid cares and wants to win.

The true travesty is we don’t have a true #1 center to play him with that has speed and can drive offence on his own to open up space for his wingers.

This.

They won't do anything.

I also really believe a quality coach gets way more out of this team. We definitely need some changes, but unless we hire a quality coach there is no point.

Different team than last playoffs. They just had zero tactical support from Ward.

Sucks.
I've been pretty damn critical of the horrible coaches we've had.

But hell no. This roster is trash. Coach and roster need HUGE turnover.

No excuses. If the GM doesn't clean house, he can go too.

Follow on TV? I’m sure I will. But until something significant happens, I’m out.
I think a lot of fans are very disillusioned with this team. I didn’t watch the 3rd period, because I am very tired of the epic choke this team seems to do every year.
Unless some big changes happen, I don’t see any ling term success for the Flames.

Sure glad we paid to acquire Forbort and Gustafsson for no reason.

Kulak (who is now the Canadiens' ~$2 million #4 defenceman), a 2020 3rd, a 2020 4th, and a 2021 4th.

for

17 games of UFA Gustafsson, 18 games of UFA Fantenberg, 17 games of UFA Forbort, 0 games of Valiev, 0 games of Taormina.

Incredible asset expenditure. Instead of low-balling a home-grown player in Kulak and then trading him out of spite for exercising his CBA-given right to arbitration, we could have signed him for ~$1 million and been in the same place.

2 points and -4 for your #1 center in the series.

I don't put all the blame on Monahan but holy moly that is not what a #1 center looks like or produces. Really invisible for the most part. Time for a change.

I have been vocal on here last couple days regarding some posters wanting to talk about the future before the season is over.
I want to clear up any misunderstanding about me thinking this team was complete or a real contender. My argument was all about timing.
Now.
The series is over.
The season is over.
We can really have a conversation about what this debacle means for the team we cheer for. The first period shows us the ability, but ability isn't enough in the big leagues. Every team has the ability. It's about commitment. The Stars were laughing on the bench down 3-1. Flames were thinking about whatever the #### they were thinking about.
Seven goals on 24 shots!
Seven goals on 24 shots!
I've been a fan of this team for 40 years. This might be the worst I can remember. Not because I thought they were particularly good. I didn't really even think they were going to win this game; I was hoping, but whatever, hope is for the hopeful. Winners win. Guys like Joe Pavelski win.
I'm wanting something new. There is not one player on this team who I feel has distinguished himself enough to be untouchable.
Hopefully the culture change can run deep.

Can we even get a 2nd rounder for Lindhom after another playoff debacle?

Ya, he should have. That wasn’t playoff goaltending. He looked like garbage to start.

Have felt pretty disinterested in watching or getting invested in any sports teams for a while now and have realized my life isn't any worse for it and probably won't be worse for it at any time in the future. This unusual corona year 2020 playoff thing got me to check in again but the perpetual disappointment and waste of countless hours watching millionaires playing a game on television has me saying "Why do I need this? Who cares"?

The Ducks loss in 2005 much worse the this.

The team tonight had some jump. Momentum switched and then the coach made the worst decision in game in recent memory, and is so out of touch that he didn’t realize, besides the act of putting a sieve in net, he also zapped any of the confidence in already shell shocked players by giving up on Talbot and putting a guy in the players know is not a confident goalie.

I’m a big fan of Monahan’s but it’s pretty clear that he’s not a #1 centre. He’s an elite #2. I don’t really care if they trade him or keep him but they need to rebuild and try get a #1 through the draft.

Again... careful, people have been chastised and fired into the sun for saying less.
