My guess is they'll choose #2 and hire an entirely new coaching staff.

I'm still not on the trade Gaudreau train just yet. I think you have to get him away from Monahan and try him with different linemates for a season. I could see him being effective with guys like Bennett and Dube.

I'd like to see Monahan traded. We're not going anywhere with him as our #1 C.

I think the most likely outcome.

There will be better teams than the Flames with coaching vacancies this off-season. At least two.

So I don't expect us to get one of the top coaches available.

Most rebuilds fail, this on has. no no.1 D, no no.1 center, no truly elite player. Time to rebuild, blow it the #### up, keep the young guys. This core doesn’t fuel me with any optimism as a fan. I really stopped caring after last playoffs, this just kind of confirms that. They can keep spinning their wheels but no one is gonna keep buying in to this team.

Somewhere between 1 and 2. I get the frustration, but this team was great last season up to the All-Star break. I think you have a better chance of a successful playoff run in the near future through re-finding that form than by blowing it up. You can always consider hockey trades, but change for the sake of change puts you a weak negotiating position and you're only gonna lose value.

First priority is to get a real coach. Then see what he wants to do with the roster

Trade Monahan and Gio 50% each retained for the best futures you can find

Move everyone else that doesn’t want to play through two years of suck

Take some bad contracts back but form an identity

Spend some money on a coach

Trade up and draft Askarov

Force feed Bennett, Dube, Mangiapane, Valimaki, Kylington, Andersson, Ryan minutes next year

100% keep Gaudreau unless he wants out. Move him and you’ll be looking for another version of him for the next 5 years.

After last year's embarrassment, the biggest change our gm could muster was bringing in lucic.

If treliving isn't fired, u suspect he'll find a way to bring in Loui Erickson and a re-tread goalie tandem.

Treliving goes and figure out the rest later.

I hate how we have two threads with essentially the exact same topic, but one is just asking for a poll.

So Treliving gets another last kick at the can? I now think his crap moves, non moves and dubious coaching decisions are enough to send him packing too.

I predict we overpay for a goalie along the lines of Varlamov or Holtby.

And we move Monahan for a mediocre return in the hopes JG is reignited with a different center.

And Gio stays around, keeps the C, touts how hard he works in the off season.

Next spring, squeak into the playoffs and first round exit again.

There are two elite UFA goalies...throw money at them

I would rather overpay a guy who is on the ice all game than overpay a 3rd liner

Put me on team re-build

To quote Jack Donaghy:

"It was 1994, and I was ice climbing when I fell into a crevasse and hurt my leg. There was only one way out, so fighting every natural instinct I have, I did the thing I hated the most. I climbed down into the darkness."

Why? I'm not sure he's done well enough to earn job security through this.

This is when you bring in a new GM

Worst possible time to keep Treliving. He is desperate and that is when GM’s start to throw money around at UFA’s (which he is terrible at) and trade picks for quick fix players (which he is also terrible at)

Treliving as GM will fail on another coaching hire, trade more picks for players, and try to fix holes with more UFA’s that will end up as buyouts

It’s the right time to move on

Why does Tre get to come back??? Most overrated GM in franchise history.

How many assets spent on goalies that can't stop a beachball when it matters?
How many $$$$ spent on old useless plugs in free agency?
How many utterly incompetent coaching hires?
Absolutely fleeced by Garth snow on the Hamonic trade not to mention many other terrible trades.
All the while spending zero assets trying to upgrade on Monahan at #1C which absolutely has to happen for this team to be a legit contender.

The only things he's been good at is resigning RFAs and drafting but that's not nearly good enough and IMO he ain't the right guy for the job that has to happen now.
