Well, see, the thing about the Flames is that we can never count on that. The playoffs are only the beginning of the nightmare. We still have a whole offseason of almost trades and "the prices just didn't make sense for us" and "we like where we're at, we think we have some real good guys in that locker room, and we just need to make a few strategic adjustments."
Never, ever discount the extent to which mediocrity is given a pass with this franchise. The chance this team looks almost exactly the same when the season starts back up isn't as low as you'd think. They've done this so many times in the past.

Why did they have to go up 3-0? If this is the final result why give us any hope at all?
This team is so DRAINING. I think that's what hurts the most. They take so much from their fans.

If you want to change the identity you'll have to do a lot more than change coaches. This team simply isn't good enough to begin with, throw in some mentally fragile players and you get the team we see tonight. It's not just Ward, it's not just Rittich........it's everything.
