Game 6 will be the most important game of the season.
This is where we can see whether or not it is worth retaining the current core. Can they play well in this elimination game, or are they going to falter once more?

If Thursday is our last game then I would hope we are getting some big changes with the core. It's not just the Flames that are needing core changes in comparison to other teams in the league, so there could be a lot of shake ups.

At this point, the Flames are paying Gaudreau $6.75M to be a PP specialist in the Playoffs

Should probably blow this thing up, team is not good enough and never will be with this core. Maybe that's just me though.

Not to mention his well publicized lack of commitment off-ice.

Our 3rd line has been our best line by far, and Gaudreau has been a blackhole in almost every single game. Plus he blew his defensive coverage in the last minute of Game 2 for the winner. Just the complete opposite of a playoff performer.

He's a $6.75M PP specialist who is looking for a raise. But don't worry, he's "just unlucky".
 |
Agreed.

Wish Johnny the best, but he seems checked out. I think he really wants to be playing elsewhere.

Time to try and get Hall (if available) and move Gaudreau for assets. It's time for a core change.

Would agree if this wasn’t the damn song and dance we get from this team every single f’in year. It’s so exhausting.

It is so unsurprising that it is heart breaking.

Dallas ratchets up the intensity in game 2, 80% of the roster cowers in the corner and the coach turns a blind eye.

The core is trash. Rebuild it.

Agreed... when a team pushes back hard you don't shy away but instead you push back harder. I saw it today after the Klingberg goal. The flames didn't seem confident in their ability to tie up the game.

Yeah, I think this team's core is completely rotten and it infuriates me beyond belief.

...but I don't want Flames hockey to end. This has been a fun few weeks after months of nothing but bad news.

I'd rather Tkachuk have his brain. If he's to play again let it be at no risk .
He's the heart and soul of this team and the future captain.

Well have to wait as 2020 just wasn't our year.

It hurts me to even say it, but if you can get a similar package to what Boston got for Kessel for a Gaudreau trade, you do it.
 Two top 10 1sts and a decent 2nd rounder.

That being said, I'd imagine it would involve atleast a roster player coming back.

No. I'm saying Johnny deserves every bit of criticism including "#### you" and everything else. All fair game if you ask me he's paid huge money to be the guy.

While it is on the players it has a lot to do with coaching. Sutter talked about how he has these specific tasks that he would give his players within the game. He knows how to push buttons to make players play harder, creating and "us against the world" mentality We are not seeing a focus driven team. That was a piss poor effort to come back in the 3rd.
