He could have played it better but Hanifin, Andersson, and Gaudreau were all worse on that shift.
Should have been an easy breakout but Hanifin and Andersson gave it away behind the net.
Hanifin Had an exit attempt that he chipped out to the blue line but Gaudreau didn’t get out on the dman who kept it in.
A second attempt went up the LW and neither Gaudreau or Hanifin even moved to make an attempt on it.
Monahan won the first battle but was the only guy behind the goal line in a 2-1 situation and he gave it away when trying to chip it to Hanifins corner.
Monahan made a mistake that he looked to switch to Pavelski on the pick and was late to realize nobody picked up Janmark. Andersson wasn’t covering anyone.
Pass went to the point and Gaudreau was super late on closing down that lane and dman.
Bad all around but there were two exit attempts on the LW that Gaudreau was slow to react to, and then he was slow on closing down his point man. Lots of blame to go around there.
