Dallas played really well. Waves and waves of pressure and high danger chances. Game easily could've been 8-4 if not for puck luck and some timely CamBot saves. Flames defense needs to play better. Better job defending entries. More puck pursuit. Better zone exits. Criticism is definitely warranted.

On the bright side, Flames offense looked much crisper. Top line made a lot of good passes. I would've actually liked to see more 4th line. They're not gonna score much, but they were good at establishing a forecheck in their limited minutes. That's what the flames need while up a goal.

Hoping the tight Reffing continues. It really favors the flames. Our top line really needs the PP minutes, while the PK can score at a rate close to the Dallas PP

"Blowing up a core" is very rare in the NHL. So if you are cheering for the Flames to lose for that outcome, you probably will still be disappointed.
With that being said, I think unless the team makes a run to the final 4 - I suspect some significant changes to be made this off-season, for both short-term and long-term reasons.
Whether they win or lose this series doesn't change that for me.

Just take the ####ing icing so we at least have every player with a stick FFS.
I hate that I called that in real time. As soon he went for the pass I said "game over, needed to take the icing. It was so obvious, but I get he's in the game and trying to make the better play if it worked.

That’s fair, at the bare minimum some changes will take place which will be good in the long run.

Just as the flames always blow games 2 and 4 when leading a series, we’re clutch in game 5 to take control. We’ll be up by 2 before the 10 min mark of the 1st on Tuesday.

Missed the game so catching PVR highlights. Did a sniper get into the arena and start picking off stars? Cogliano flopped on that play like he took a slug to the cranium.
Oh and **** you Perry. Textbook interference on the goalie and he is yapping at the refs. Hope the refs told him to shut the f up.

Tough loss. at least this isn’t the Colorado series last year and the first line is starting to show signs of life. Hopefully the calls go our way in game 5. Series could go either way but we definitely have a chance in this best of 3

Cashier: *completely monotone* I am dead inside... there is no other way to explain it... how is your day?

Me: I'm also having a bad day... but mine is because my team just lost in the playoffs.

Cashier: *still deadpan monotone* There will be another game... I will still work at Walmart.

So, yeah... I guess it could be worse?
Hey next time your at the Walmart let me know if they have a swimming pool. Only half kidding. Self isolation sucks.

Edit: I'm also am craving Moon mist ice cream

My apologies to to forum.
The change in karma from Friday’s game might have been my fault. I did not make the dog wear his Flames sweater this time (it’s 30 degrees outside). When he wore it Friday the Stars could not buy a goal... Nothing to do with The Scorpion, who makes great GDTs!

So I’m over the anger phase. But consistently losing leads is exactly what we did last playoffs and now 2 times this series we were fragile. I have little to no faith the Flames will win another game this season. Hope I’m wrong.

Hey it could be worse, we could blow a 3-1 series lead. Now it’s simply a best of three series. Easy peasy.

Sorry guys this loss is all on me.

I told my good friend I was never again going to watch a playoff game from his house. We figured that had to be the contributing factor.

Some of the worst choke job losses in recent history have been witnessed from that house, including all losses from this play-in and round 1 series.

That Game 3 nightmare in 2017 where the Ducks tied the game after being down 4-1? Yeah, that's on me.

Game 2 against the Avs last year where they tied it with the goalie pulled? On me.
Game 2 and 4 against the Stars this series? Yep, you guessed it... sitting in that same couch.

They're all superstitious like me so they wholeheartedly agreed, of course, but yeah I'm just watching from home from now on. Every single win we've had in both series this year was with my ass firmly parked in my own god damn couch. I watched the series clincher vs the Jets from there so I thought that might have bucked the curse, but nope.

Not testing that bad juju anymore...

Could be me too Gaskal. I mentioned with about 45 seconds left that I had never seen the Flames win in 5 games in my lifetime. True story, but of course this series doesn’t have a chance for that now.
