Story of the Flames playoffs for me has been soft clears in our zone and give aways in theirs.

Novice level effort to get the puck our countless times, and yes a dire one by Lindholm, but it was hardly the only one. It’s been happening all playoffs. Might as well pass it to their D.

And not being able to figure out to just shoot the puck. Just shoot it. Got nothing else? Stop throwing it into the corner for the other team to go get. Put it at the net and cause some chaos. You don’t even need to look. The net hasn’t moved in 100 years.

Man, some of the opinions around here are brutal. Yes, outshot badly but 5 straight penalty kills will account for that. Anyone who thought this series wasn’t going to be a battle is kidding themselves. This is playoff hockey. Take out the PK’s and this game was pretty played pretty even. We were one broken Reider stick away from being up 3-1 and only lost due to another bad luck broken stick. These “series over” “Flames not even in it” “bunch of losers” “Colorado all over again” posts are straight up embarrassing.

Reider had an open net and broke his stick...then Brodie has a broken stick on the GWG

They also need to stop dumping pucks if there's no one to run after it.

Dumping pucks like that only makes sense if you're defending the lead or possibly if it's a really tight, low mistake game. This wasn't that. This was a "last goal wins" game, where keeping the initiative and pushing for a goal is key.

Not even close lol. We've already won more games and got more points from our top line in this series alone than the Colorado series. We're playing far better here.

Too passive defensively.

Not enough focus at the end of the 3rd.

Need to figure out how to draw some penalties if the refs want to be as involved in the game as they have been

The Flames somehow managed to take tons of penalties while not even being very physical. I'm pretty sure Lindholm led the team in hits. Lindholm.

Forbert was atrocious. Gustafsson was bad.
Andersson was good though. As were the third and fourth lines. I was fine with Monahan and Gaudreau.

This game felt very similar to the series versus Colorado last year. Especially games 2 and 4 (I believe those were the games in which Colorado tied it late in the third period).
At least Dallas doesn't look as dangerous or fast.

Still haven't been down 8n the series. Stars have been chasing the whole time. Flames do need to find another gear though, this series is extremely winnable

These games have been incredibly close...coin flip games... let's focus on game 5.

Let's go Flames.

Yes, it must really upset your agenda on this board if someone thinks there is still a chance. Is there a bigger phony Flames fan on this board than you? I think not. You must be in your glory right now.

Flames have been out played for 2 straight games.

Talbot was once again a huge factor...

Flames took lots of dumb penalties.

Generally thought Flames struggled with the long change all game. Many times where they got hemmed in late in shifts.

A Big #### you to yet another expansion draft, could’ve possibly been playing Valimaki over Fobort right now. Could really use him in this series

An opinion is one thing...saying a 2-2 series is over?

Lose with 30 seconds left in game 2. Give up the tying goal with 11 seconds left today. This team was maybe a minute away from sweeping the series despite being outplayed. Thought that 30 years of bad playoff luck was coming to an end. But yet, here we are, tied 2-2 with the Flames being on their heels.

Flames 5v5 vs Colorado:

CF%: 45.06%
FF%: 44.26%
SF%: 44.24%
SCF%: 42.49%
HDCF%: 43.75%
xGF%: 39.93%

Flames 5v5 vs Dallas:

CF%: 41.82%
FF%: 40.35%
SF%: 42.03%
SCF%: 34.29%
HDCF%: 36.21%
xGF%: 34.64%

The Flames are literally worse by every single metric this year versus last year. They are simply relying on special teams and praying Talbot plays god-like every game to even stand a chance.

Pathetic.
