Stars fans seem pretty cool so I kinda feel bad for them tonight, that must've been EXTREMELY frustrating to watch from their end!

This makes me think about the fact that this year, games in September will ACTUALLY earn 2 teams banners...and the usual September champions don’t even get to participate.

Yeah, might have to get used to the fact that they're gonna gut out wins more like this than the run and gun regular season style.
Bonus positivity points for already doubling their improvement on last year's playoff performance! 2 wins vs 1 last year. Baby steps.
Cam Talbot isn't losing his net any time soon. He is dialed in. I dont think we even see Ritter if a series is on the line. Only way he gets in this year I think is an.....i won't say it.
Anywho, Lindholm had a game, but more in the he does all the little things right kind of game and not the score a goal or two way. He came up with 2 big clears during the Stars 6 on 5 push at the end of the game.

I'm finding I trust Ward more and more. He certainly made the right call with keeping Talbot in.
I don't like everything about the way the team is playing, but there are a few clear coaching decisions that I think have really advantaged the team at important times.

In case anyone wanted to see how the Dallas vs Blue series went last year. How the Blues top offensive players struuuuuggled against the Stars D. How goaltending stole the show.
How we, as Flames fans need some context on how the story of a Stanley cup is won.
Enjoy the wins. Ignore the losses. Love hockey. Gnight.

Also, Looch and Bennett are the answers to a long run. Need their grit to push back on teams and swing momentum. You can tell Lucic is one of those players that really only get up for the big games and the big time that is the playoffs. Clear as day. Bennett the same thing. Presence is a major factor.

Flames only chance of winning this whole thing is if he starts producing so you don’t demote him but put your confidence in him. Glad most posters on here aren’t in coaching

Yeah. Johnny is catching sparks where there was nothing before.
Now's the time when he needs that vote of confidence and positive reinforcement, not to be ripped into. Without question, we will need his scoring at some point to make a run. Can't bury a guy that has the keys to providing this team with an offensive catalyst who has the ability in him to blow the doors off the opposition.
You have to feel that when "it" clicks for him finally, he will go on a bit of a tear as he has historically.

Lucic is clearly a leader on the team in these playoffs. The way he's playing deserves an A on his jersey.

Some people missing in the thread here that were here just 24h ago, making all sorts of proclamations or, in the GT less than 5h writing eulogies. Wherever did they go and why?

Sorry kid, looks like you gotta do that before every game now. You're a goalie's daughter, you know them's the rules.

Some unsung players out there, certainly at the back. Don't know how many Flames fans 6 months ago would believer you if telling you that Forbort and Gustavsson played a lot and played well this playoffs.
Brodie of course with the goal but was all over the ice making great decisions with the puck and man marking.
Gio with a very good game as well. Certainly goes against the narrative last night when people were ready to find old folks home for him, bit on tail end of back to back he was there front and center.

U-G-L-Y WIN. Boring, stuck in the mud hockey. Team is halfway through the job. They just need to win 2 more games and get out of this series alive. The Stars would be an absolute nightmare matchup for the Flames if they weren’t so scoring challenged. Big, fast, heavy, defensive oriented. Sort of the opposite of the Flames.
The standouts were easily Talbot, Backlund and PK tonight.
