Yeah, you do when the other lines have been dog#### 5 on 5. Not a lot of other options.

Mangiapane is a sparkplug that can hopefully put a tiny bit (more than zero) of energy into Monahan and Gaudreau

Backlund-Bennett-Lucic .. yeah kinda threw that together.

I honestly think maybe best thing flames could do is put Johnny tkachuk and mony on a line. The ya re all playing so poorly that might actually either sink us or will spark something. Tkachuk and gaudreau have been so bad it’s almost laughable.

I am excited for the Raptors to begin playoffs on Monday. Hopefully those games will be a bit more exciting instead of watching no emotion from some of the highest paid players on this Flames roster.

Gio + Johnny out. Valimaki + Robinson in. For the win.

That's not at all what I said.

Bennett has been great. Unquestionably. Full credit for his goal and for his overall performance.

He also needed to get that puck deep with just over a minute left in a 4-4 game. No question that Dube and Johnny are the ones primarily responsible for the goal tho.

Only half kidding but along the same lines, Ryan and Lindholm are two very good players at their roles, being buried on their lines.

I can’t imagine what an overall shuffle would look like that paired them but it would be a wild scene

I really like Derek Ryan on the whole.

But it’s just one game. No reason to go crazy

Johhny Gaudreau at 5v5 6 games in:

- 0 Points
- xGF/60 of 0.19 (4th lowest among players in the Playoffs who've played 60 minutes)
- iSCF/60 of 3.74 (7th lowest among players in the Playoffs who've played 60 minutes)
- iHDCF/60 of 0 (obviously dead last)
- CF% Rel of -9.52
- FF% Rel of -7.23
- SF% Rel of -6.67
- SCF% Rel of -13.65
- HDCF% Rel of -59.65
- xGF% Rel of -18.00

He's been a complete detriment to the Flames in every way possible 5v5

Like actually what the f***. I didn't know numbers could get that bad. Almost can't help but laugh at that level of pathetic play

Swap Gio and Gus, and move the pairings around in the rotation?

4/55
56/7
5/20

I just can’t see the logic in Gio being the minutes eater right now. He is really struggling. The comment earlier about the time machine swap with him and Looch is bang on. He looks every second of 36 years old. Maybe stepping down the minutes relieves some pressure.

Johnny is not the problem at this point it's the people giving him a regular shift. Never mind at critical points in a game.

I think this girlfriend of his is bad news.

Papa Guy needs to intervene for the sake of the team.

Gaudreau - Backlund - Mangiapane: Johnny needs to play with a centre who can actually carry the puck up the ice and has good hockey sense
Bennett - Monahan - Lindholm: Monahan needs a player who can lay the body and dig the puck out of the corners
Lucic - Dube - Tkachuck: Dube is a natural centre no?
Jankowski - Ryan - Reider

If Tkachuk is a no go i'd bring in Quine. He has decent size and hands, not a bad skater either.

Anyone breaking up Dube-Bennett-Lucic in their new line proposals assuming Tkachuk is a no go tomorrow needs to stop.

The thing is it's just not this single game he deserves flak for. He hasn't been great for a couple of seasons . Floats, only pokes at pokes near him, couldn't take a hit to make a play or stop a play and just always drives the zone to early to cherry pick. He's not the kane we thought he would be. I think even Nathan gerbe was stronger on the puck than JG has ever been. He has had a few magical seasons when he was new coming into the leugue but top lines know make a few loaud skate sounds his way and he will dump the puck quicker than Barney stinston and a girl 30+. It was a great run with him for a few seasons but his size is no excuse for his weak physical play. TooToo,Fluery,Gerbe, byron, mangipane, Debrincate,Marchand,Atkinson,Zuccarello, Marchessault,
, Brendan Gallagher, Yanni Gourde, Rocco Grimaldi, Torey Krug and Domi are small guys that can get in the trenches and battle.

Outside of his 99p season last year they all are around that 64 to 70 p average very close to JG averages before last year. He is the man out on that line
Lindholm could be more efficient and effective if he wasn't do the majority of the tougg stuff . Monahan has steadly been getting stronger and making more hits. He had several good hits this game. He sent lots of players to their ass not on big open ice hits bit through pure strength.

Jg needs to go regardless if the Flames win this series or win the cup. Hes 27 , sweet contract to score some nice asset's and he just dosen't fit around what the young (or older) guys bring in now.

Johnny is billed a a top line nhler. He acts like a top line player. He was for few seasons a top liner . He can't be a top line player apparently.
