Gaudreau was bad. Giordano was bad. We lost Tkachuk twice. Talbot let in a absolute stinker. We had a goal called back
AND STILL
This game was tied in the final minute with the Stars looking the best they have all post season. It's a super frustrating game to lose but if that's the best the Stars have to offer the only way we lose this series is if we beat ourselves in my opinion.

Do you really think it is any different? If the Flames ghost again tomorrow then it is basically a repeat of last year's series against the Avs. Top line doing nothing and Gio looking lost.

You can say Johnny missed his assignment which maybe fair but every shift after the PP goal was brutal flames I think where ready to go to the dressing room and play for in overtime. I think there will be more pushback tomorrow.

I think Monahan and Lindholm are trying but it’s like playing 5-4. Hrs afraid to hold the puck, just throws it away whenever a dman comes close and is a liability in his own end.
That game winner is 100% on him IMO. He looks directly at Oleksiak when he comes off the bench, is on the right side of him but gets caught puck watching when Oleksiak pinched and was too late to react to his man at the back door.
Honestly the guy is a shell of his former self and has been all season.

Johnny scaredy-puck has been awful all playoffs. The only times he’s noticeable in a positive way is on the PP. he’s terrified of being hit, and refuses to go anywhere near the crease.
He should almost be heathy scratched. Might actually help us

I’ve tried to stay pretty positive about the top line this post season and given them props for their defensive play but I think some of the shouts are fair.
He’s actually been that bad. He was 100% a liability at 5v5 tonight.

My question is, why is Johnny out there late in a tie game?

I love Gio but like i said before, no other dman has fell off a cliff this far, this fast in NHL history.
Sure Gaudreau has been invisible in the post season but he's like 5'2 100lbs. Gio is our captain and a huge liability and a terrible playoff leader.

Tough loss after working hard to tie it up. Felt Dallas had this game after they went up 2-1 so happy they battled back.
Concerned about Tkachuk

Gio has been bad pretty much outside of like 1 game against the Jets. It's time to cool off with his ice time.

I’m more worried about Gio than anything, just weird seeing him struggling so much.

Game Takes: Stars 5 Flames 4 (Series tied 1-1)
- Flames not sharp tonight
- Stars pushed back hard
- Some credit for the bounce back
- painful finish in the end

Replacing him with an average player would help the team. I don't think I've ever seen a player in the playoffs shy away from all physical contact the way Johnny does. It's beyond pathetic he literally make sure he has a zero contact game.
