Nice to get the first game. Anytime you get 3 goals on Dallas you best win the game. I think goals will become pretty scarce in this series. So the Flames will need to take advantage of the days they can pot a couple. Flames looking a lot more like a team that won't go easily like they did last year.

Stars didn't get a sniff when the Flames were in lock down mode at the end. It was comical watching the Stars goalie have to retreat back to the a few time. Gio made it more interesting than it had to be, kudos to the whole squad. Maximum effort and no passengers.
Did they ever mention or speculate what happen to Johns?
It's pretty clear that the Flames need to play with the lead. Dallas can really shut it down when they're up, but they struggle to open it up when behind.
What an awesome game! Haven’t posted in years but just wanted to chime in on everyone asking bout the ATL. Here is a quick and easy way to find them.
1. Fund a page with an ATL on it.
2. Bookmark it.
3. Anytime you want to find the newest one. Open the bookmark, tap on Gaskai’s name and select “ find more posts from GasKai” and Boom! if it has been posted it will show up on his activity feed. Easy Peazy Lemon Squeezy.
Great start. The playoffs are a marathon, not a sprint. Strong team play, tight defence, solid goaltending, and contributions from throughout the lineup are all great indicators of success. So fun to see the scoring coming from the young guys, and Lucic continues to be a presence. Enjoying this restart!
The thing Brodie said after the game resonated. He noted that guys can trust their teammates.
It’s a big deal. I remember that jerk Neal’s failure to back check that got him healthy scratched, and don’t see that as a problem with this group.
Mike Smith: GAA >11
James Neal: laughing with teammates while getting eliminated by Chicago
Lucic: 5 game point streak
The great thing is that other teams still have to check the top 2 lines, so Bennett-Dube-Lucic can go about their business, run over guys, and can chip in as well.
Also Rasmus discussed activating the D more
Fun playoffs so far
Kudos to Wardo

I'm not liking the sportsnet (and others) narrative that Perry and Tkachuk are the 'same player'. Sure, there are generic similarities. Do they both get under the other team's skin? Absolutely. Considered agitators? Yes. Do other teams hate them? Yes. Perry wouldn't fight out of his weight class. Tkachuk- squared off with caveman and Wheeler. I won't argue Tkachuk has some growing up to do to become captain. Perry has never grown up. Still a scumbag. Still remember the injury he faked against the flames in 2015. Went down like he had taken a shotgun blast to the leg from Stajan. Came back in the game shortly after drawing that penalty and scored the game winner I believe. And just suspended in Feb for elbowing Pred's Ellis in the head a the winter classic. Don't compare a piece of **** to a future captain.

Fun fact after reading that ATL report - the Oilers are paying Sekera $2,500,000 this year to play for Dallas. And they're paying Lucic $750,000 to play for us. And we acquired Dube for Kris Russell, who they're paying $4,000,000 to play for themselves.
Lmao
They pretty much need to put "sponsored by the Oilers" graphics on the screen for this series, wouldn't you say.

What a fun game to watch. Clean, physical high quality hockey.
This team looks mentally stronger than they've been in a long time. The last half of the first year of Hartley was probably the last time they looked like this, not rattled by setbacks at all, just get back at it. Of course they're clearly a lot more mature now as a group.
This is the kind of play that win or lose, it's satisfying to watch. They're now giving it what they got, consistently. The offense isn't exactly high octane, but it's skilled and hard working and that gets things done.
Dallas fans seem like a good bunch too, such different vibes than the petty vitriol of Some Other Teams. "Is someone gonna call security on the homeless man on the ice who keeps scoring on us" was hilarious.
I'm going to enjoy this series. And hopefully the next one too
