No chance he falls that far, would have to trade up.

I can honestly see that oilers pick getting 1300 goals and 2500 points.
On topic I’m just relieved that it wasn’t greaserville.

In 2014, the New York Rangers faced off against the Los Angeles Kings in the Stanley Cup finals.
Today, those teams are drafting 1st and 2nd overall.

Now that the draft order is set I took a peek through the mid-1st round projected kids, a lot of solid players but nobody that I’m super excited about. If Jarvis actually falls that’d be cool.

If Zary and Holloway are gone at our pick, a guy I hope we look at is Tyson Foerster-62pts (32 goals)in 80 games. 6'1"194lbs, plays a bit of a power forward style, shoots right. He's been steadily moving up the rankings, and the mock drafts. He was team White's player of the game at the CHL Top Prospects Game. Only knock on him is that his acceleration needs work-his agility, balance, and top speed are ok. He's created a bit of a buzz for himself in 2020.

Actually the other way around. 80 points in 62 games.

Johnny dreamed of playing in Philly. And Taylor is a free agent out of AZ. If a trade is what you’re getting at that is.

Woke up this morning to this thread. Oilers down to 14 and Laf to NY instead of the Leafs? That is literally best case scenario! Well done NHL.

That's what I want. I don't see Lundell or Holloway still around at 19 and I think Zary tops out at third line. Lapierre, as scary as a concussion history is, is top 8, maybe top 5, in this draft without it.
Got to do good medical background obviously but I think he is worth the risk.

The thing with him is that the most recent one, wasn't a concussion, but rather a spinal/neck injury. So that may alleviate some of those concerns.
Which means he could go well before the Flames.

If Lapierre is available, they should take him...unless Askarov is still there. If he drops, they HAVE to jump at the chance to get him.

I know it never happens, but I’d be real interested to see what it would take to trade up to 11/12 where Askarov likely will be. He excites me more than most in the draft.
I did some more looking into potential likely first round targets and if Zary and Mercer are both gone (they should be) then I would probably trade down and get a couple picks. Or even straight up trade the pick for someone else’s young expansion exempt player, don’t know who would be a target in the right value range though.

With the exception of Lafreniere, I don't recognize a single name being discussed here.

Think the Flames draft Jacob Perreault just to be confusing.
Like Zary around where we pick. Foerster, too.

I have been doing a little deeper (past the 1st round) look into the draft and I would like to declare this the "5'11-175 Draft" So many players that size.
Also as deep as it is it is not looking like a great draft for d-man which is our biggest positional need for prospects.
Enjoying the Future Considerations mock draft simulator. So far I have taken Lapierre 3 out of 4 times with the 19th.
