The great thing about this they wasted another year of Connor Macdavid. I am not going to lie. when they got Connor I had some horrible flashbacks to what Gretzky did to us in the 80’s. Silly me, there was nothing to worry about, they have managed to completely squander 5 years of his career. How many Edmonton years does he have left? Maybe 4 or 5? Only Edmonton could get worse with the best player in the world.

But this rule, it's not some subtle rule the league slides in. It's not 'Paragraph 24.1.a.' This rule comes to be known as the Edmonton Rule. I want that name associated with incompetence with extreme prejudice. It's not enough that the league knows about 'the Edmonton Rule.' I want it known outside of hockey, outside of North America that the word 'Edmonton' translates to 'utter incompetence.' In 2022, I want some company to open a diamond mine in South Africa or Mozambique or Azerbaijan somewhere, and I want that mine to fail, and miserably so. And when it fails I want the person in charge to explain to his investors, 'we had bad information, incompetence from above - the mine Edmontoned on us.'
I want Edmonton to do nothing other than Be Edmonton. Get Lafreniere, Edmonton. Show us how spectacularly ****ty you can be.
