I legitimately do not recall the NHL in particular pushing any one star the way they have with McDavid. It’s nauseating. For example, Mackinnon is arguably better than McDavid and we don’t hear about every time he clips his nails. With McDavid it is massive overkill- particularly considering his own teammate had more points than he did this year and he’s never won anything.

It’s way, way, way over the top. It’s fine if they want to market him and he is a star no doubt, but, maybe let’s keep it in check a notch eh?

Yamamoto had the third-highest on-ice shooting percentage at 5v5 of any NHL player this season (min 20 GP)

Individually, he shot 25%, the highest in the whole league.

Well most of complaints come during an oilers game broadcast.

It was the same 10 years ago with Crosby yet no one cared because it’s not a rival. I’m sure I’d be upset too if he was a flame but it is what it is.

No it wasn’t as bad with Crosby
The way the media treats him in your town is embarassing
And frankly you should demand better
But we certainly deserve better

It's why I can no longer stand Ron MacLean. The last time the Oilers made the playoffs he seemed to find any excuse he could to bring up McDavid even when they weren't playing. It was ridiculous.
