Even if this team manages to limp past a mediocre Jets team that's missing a handful of their best players, they aren't going to go much farther after that.
I just hope Treliving has the balls to make big changes this off season.
It's poorly built team with a lot of flaws.

Even one PP goal in one of the 6 chances, and Calgary takes that game

Sure, but not calling the hook on Mangiapane was ridiculous. If you let that go, then don't call the crosscheck seconds later.
Even DeBrusk said that hook is an automatic call.

You need your top players to be able to skate to stretch the opposition defense and to pressure them.
When you best "skater" is Bennett, you are in big trouble.
Was hoping Dube had taken that next step after all the hyperbole during training camp, but looks like he still has a ways to go.

its Size for me. Gaudreau can't take the abuse of a run. I am convinced of this.

They were running on instinct in game one.
Overthought it tonight. Got lured into the chirping. Point for that tool in the spectacles.
Just stop guys, you have a huge leg up, don't react to their tactics and just take care of your business. Door is open, walk through it. All you have to do. Every time you stop to engage in those scrums and take penalties you just get distracted from the goal.

The players must hate these press conferences, especially after a loss. Some of these questions are ridiculous

Jets? More like the Gliders because they keep getting towed.

I think the Flames 100% have the talent to come back in Game 3 and once again take a stranglehold on the momentum of the series. They easily have the edge on paper and if they play like they did in Game 1, they'll win.
But today was frustrating and passionless. The powerplay genuinely felt like a penalty kill. Can they fix it? I think they can... but the issue with these Flames is always execution.

Offensively I'd like to see Dube between Tkachuk and Mangi. But defensively we still need Backs on that line for now.

I don’t know about that. It is the first few games the Flames are typically off to a mediocre start before they find their groove. If they beat the Jets in 5 they could be rounding into form.
Treliving has always had the balls to make a big move.

And this is why we only have one playoff win in the last four years. Depleted Jets team had one way to win and that was to out work us. And we let them.
Game 1 — everyone was hitting everything. Today, barely anyone bothered to finish their checks. It’s like they thought the team they wore down and beat on Friday was the team they were going to face today.
It’s now a best of three. Fortunately, 2020 Winnipeg < 2019 Colorado so I still like our chances. But another game or two like that and we can call it a season, and all the talk about redemption was just that — talk.

If they are only going to play Rinaldo for 4 min when they play again in 24 hours then what’s the point of having him in the lineup. No chance to get a steady flow going and help wear down the Jets. May as well have Jankowski in so he can at least kill some penalties.

I hope management have the balls to realize that this roster has been built by mr. Treliving, who INHERITED monahan, gaudreau, backlund, Giordano, Brodie. Outside of building a team that sucked enough to get tkachuk, wtf has this gm done.
Treliving sucks too, his coaching hires, his Ufa gems, it's all idiotic. I hope he's the first to be kicked out of the franchise when this season ends soon.

I didn't expect the jets to roll over, and they came out and worked to make it 1-1. Bad effort from the flames and crappy calls this game. Short memory, on to the next.
If they #### the bed tomorrow, then let's get irrational.

I say its time to put Gaudreau back with Ryan and Lucic. I'm surprised Ward hasn't did it yet, and im kind of sad he hasn't....
You need to get John away from Sean. Sean should be on the 4th line with Rinaldo and Reider at even strength .
Whatever magic everyone is still holding onto between our batman and robin hasn't worked in well over a year going back to (before)last playoffs.

When Johnny took that skate to his ribs I immediately slotted Dube in his spot. I think he could spark Monny and Lindy with his forecheck. Something I think they could really use.

Lack of effort was the reason they lost but the officiating was still complete junk.

Maybe if Connor, Ehlers, Hellebyuck, Wheeler and Morrisey get hurt too, the Flames might win.
