Matthew Tkachuk laughs in an exasperated way when asked if he had any role in Mark Scheifele’s injury. “No. Absolutely not. … I feel terrible. Such a great guy. It’s not good for the game when someone like that isn’t in the game. It was an accident and I feel terrible about it.”

The two train together with Gary Roberts: "It's not good for the game when someone like that isn't in the game ... it was such an accident and I feel terrible about it."
John Shannon @JShannonhl
Blake Wheeler, post game, on hit vs Scheifele, says he didn't seethe play...hadn't seen the play yet. Wouldn't comment.

I have no idea if the Jets PP was just awful or if our PK was outstanding but going 8 for 8 on the PK is incredible and our penalty killers deserve a ton of credit shutting the Jets attack down.

In the end, that felt like playoff hockey. I kind of can't believe there's two more games between them in the next three days, but I'm looking forward to it now.

Go Flames Go! Great game although not going to lie, I didn't have a good feeling after that first period.
Just wondering if any of the posters watched the game who back in the spring were saying "Shut it down, if the Nhl comes back for playoffs I refuse to watch, it will be a joke"
Great day, the Oilers get their face punched in and their pride ripped to shreds, the Flames with a complete win. I'm having pancakes for breakfast tomorrow.

Winnipeg Jet fans are crying that the injury was intentional on MT's part, they can't be that stupid can they.
That's an unfortunate injury where a player avoids a hit and the leg goes one way and the body goes another way.
The Gio reaction to Laine was a little more nasty, but its like people don't remember what playoff hockey is all about.
I really like the play of guys like Bennett, Lucic and Eat Bread. they bought a lot of physical play that was needed.
The Flames defensive strategy was simply and brilliant and the team played it like they bought in completely. Holding a team like the Jets to 17 shots and a PP goal is outstanding.
