Honestly, I realize that top line centers are rare, and that the Flames would be hard put to replace Monahan. But I hate how nasty he isn't. There just isn't any fire there. Grit, yes, he's played through some really awful stuff. But that "win or die" attitude just isn't there.

I think there's still a little rust on the top guys and they'll start to shine soon. For both teams.

Fair enough. I saw it differently. All 4 of their top guys were impactful, IMO.

They created quality scoring chances. Ours didn’t.

I've felt Monahan had upped his physical game a bit this year which was a pleasant surprise. Still a long way to go but it's a start!

Our top six has been dig ####. If it weren't for the injury and fight, Tkachuk would have been invisible as well. Monahan, Gaudreau, Lindholm, Backlund, Tkachuk and Mangiapane have been terrible. They need to step it up now.
