I’m pretty sure they will all but disappear into nothing.

Not to even mention their MVP and starting goalie was still going to miss the next at least two weeks to injury.

From the Return to Play MOU:

QR Games and their resulting statistics will be included within the NHL official 2019-20 Playoff statistics.

How can you say Edmonton won’t have an easier path then the Flames or Jets when the Flames and Jets play each other first round .... by definition if they are better teams playing each other they already have a harder road

And Edmonton will be a higher seed when reseeded so they will also have an easier road then either the Flames or Jets

Both Car flags up on my blazing red 2017 Civic SI.

We all know that Zack Kassian is not a fan of turtles. It is time to acquaint the Jets with Keanu the baby Reeves turtle. Only this time, it's not 2 huge points he is after, it DEVOURING THE JETS SOULS!!

also I like red LED strip for the mancave and some Navras action.

Right or wrong, I’d say Joe hockey fan sees the Canucks as a team on the upswing and the Flames as a team treading water. So with similar records, I guess some would go with the Canucks who could be more of a mystery box.

If we were playing the Canucks in the playin this year instead of the Jets, I would not be worried for one second.

The Canucks are on the upswing but they are absolutely screwed with the cap.

They are maxed out with their two studs in Petterson and Quinn needing huge contracts in a year, not to mention their MVP is their goalie who will be asking for a huge contract this offseason UFA.

They will be losing Tanev, no way they are able to keep Tofolli who they just gave up a second and a high prospect (Madden) for.

They are Winnipeg with probably losing their vezina goalie and a worse top 6.

Unless someone scores at Malkins 08/09 pace, and puts 11 points up in the Play In round... it won’t even be close.

Goals and wins I could see though for sure. However those changed records when the playoffs were lengthened before. And although the cup never has an asterisk, records with additional games player certainly will.

My point is, why even open the door to a possibility? All time playoff stats for every player that participates will have an asterisk and for what?

Edit - reread, never mind the pool

Well they can’t count towards the season (as they decided to pro rate), it just makes sense to count them towards the playoffs.

Things change all the time, the league has changed countless times, it’s not a big deal in my opinion.

I'd be an advocate for a shorter season and a wild card play in round like this every year (minus the 4 month Covid break of course).

This series is incredibly difficult to predict but I will say Flames in 5. I have little confidence in this Flames team this year and usually that's when they surprise us all.

NHL.com predictions have just 4/16 writers predicting this in the Flames' favour. To say this team is being treated as the underdog is almost an understatement. They're being written off.

Flames in 4. Johnny is series MVP.

Brodie, Andersson, Bennett and Dube all have good series.

That's something there that's bulletin board material. Not a player from the other team saying something any other player playing a team with a similar record would say.

I don't think I've watched a single Jets game this season, but based on their record I assume the Flames are being written off by critics because of Hellebuck and the Jets having a tougher style of play for the playoffs combined with the way in which the Flames collapsed last year.

I'm thinking the Flames will have a better first round performance than last year, and I think Johnny may be a big part of that. Even so, Hellebuck is one of those goalies that can really shut the door tightly. It's pretty much a wide open series in my mind. Despite so called experts giving the series to the Jets, the betting odds I'm seeing also seem to largely favour the Flames.

Flames likely going to lose this and will be exiting the bubble early. I think for them to have a chance, they'll need to have an effective power play, and solid goaltending not letting in softies since it should be tight games that don't feature much goals overall. So the Flames have to be opportunistic, and they haven't been since the first half of last season.

This is practically a whole new season with how long the break has been though. So hopefully they break out of the mold of what made this current season so underwhelming.
