My guess is they'll defer it to 2021. Would be funny if they played much worse and gave us an early 3rd (60's) pick.

After they were pro rating stats you knew this was going to be the way. I laugh at all the Edmonton fans and media saying nope no way.
Funny thing is I bet Neal wouldn't have hit the total in his 12 or so remaining games.

Didn't the NHL come out a few weeks ago and say that they were going to stay out of it and the teams would try and work out a deal themselves. Maybe I was dreaming.

I'm unaware. If they prorated this trade clause, will they be prorating performance bonuses in contracts as well?

The trade isn't what stung, it was Neal's descent into terrible. His deal was pretty well-praised when signed. It just turned out he decided to stop giving a s***.
Getting someone back who DOES give a s*** is gravy, the contracts are a wash, and now we have a 3rd on top of it? While dumping a pure bum of a player onto our bitter rivals? Its the best that could've be done, IMO.
