The Bush revisionism is another reminder what an evil genius Dick Cheney really is. He has been able to basically fade into the background, despite being the brains of the operation. McConnell is kind of the same with Trump, but on a far less destructive scale. Even now with the "Bush wasn't so bad" takes, you basically never hear Cheney's name.

Someone on another message board I visit linked to r/Conservative to show how Trump's delaying the election tweet went over like a lead balloon with the right - https://www.reddit.com/r/Conservativ...0_us_election/
I don't know what they're like normally, but it's somewhat... heartening, I guess, to see some well-reasoned responses to this kind of dictatorial overreach.

Here's the Republican nominee who is trying to win John Lewis's seat. She seems nice...https://twitter.com/user/status/1288847468533350402

Trumps tweet was timed to minimize impact of:
-the Lewis service (because he’s racist and Obama is going to get good press)

-a member of his campaign dying from the Hoax virus

 -the increase in unemployment filings

-the historical contraction of the economy...a number that is likely to look really bad vs countries that did a proper lockdown. Those countries won’t have worse numbers and they don’t have the out of control virus right now.

That’s the intent but it’s such a bat #### crazy thing to say that it might actually do more harm than those other things.

So basically, Pompeo is saying it's Barr's call whether or not the election should be delayed in the name of having a fair election.https://twitter.com/user/status/1288847087950495749 |

			Regarding Bush vs. Trump
I think Bush was just an idiot, but he legitimately thought he was was doing right. That didn't make him less dangerous necessarily.

Trump is also an idiot, but he is also full of ill intent.

The Bush doctrine really caused a lot of suffering upfront, but Trumpism may be worse in the long run. We likely won't know the full extent of how his presidency will affect the world for a few generations. I also wouldn't put it past him to start a war before the election to give him a boost.

Bush was no lying psychopath.

He gave billions to help stop AIDS in Africa, helping save a lot of lives, and there's IMO no question his No Child Left Behind project, his one big personal domestic agenda, was created with the best intentions.

Bush might not have been a good president overall, but there's no comparison between him and Trump.

The only reason Trump hasn't created as much destruction is because he's too incompetent, plus his puppet master in Moscow probably doesn't want the US flexing its might.

People are just fascinated by Trump and I'm not sure why. Trump's been in Washington 3 years, while other politicians (cough Biden) have been there 45 years.

I would have like to have seen how Trump would have reacted to 9/11 as President. It's intriguing and scary at the same time.

One thing we know for sure.

Donald wouldn’t have been reading a book when it happened.

I would say Trump actually, finally went too far for some conservatives today, and they'll say things like this, but we all know who they are voting for in November, despite the "outcry"https://twitter.com/user/status/1288939208669671424
