Not really freaking out... just stating the obvious. Flames didn’t show up in the first, Talbot looked weak as F on the first goal with the huge pathetic rebound... Flames come back and play pretty well in the second and most of the third but make the Oilers weak goaltending look like world beaters, then Rittich lets in two completely stinky goals to deflate the entire team.
What’s to like about this game exactly?

I honestly think he's right. Aside from a few short bursts this has not been maximum effort McDavid. Not even close, most shifts.

Talbot. At least the goals on Talbot were not totally on him. That flukey goal seemed to deflate Rittich

DeBrusk also saying Edmonton simply sat back in the 2nd instead of giving Calgary any credit for playing well.
Never change.

I don't buy the Flames dominated for a huge part of the game story. They were trying to catch up.

That happens often to Rittich. He is incredibly fragile mentally. Not sure if he will ever be able to fix that portion of his game.

It’s exhibition guys.
No one wants to get hurt and miss Saturday.
I’m not happy but I’m also not going to read too much into it.
I bet a work colleague from Edmonton a case of beer on this game but I’m still not mad about losing it.
I’m gonna bank on my team AND I know they will be better come Saturday.
I just hope the coach makes the right decisions and the right guys get the call.

Chances of that happening are incredibly low. Even if the Flames are in the lottery, they will have an 8% chance of winning the top pick.

On paper the Flames and Jets are pretty evenly matched, but I just don't have much confidence in Calgary's offence, their goaltending, or their ability to elevate their game to playoff level. If Hellebuyck is on his game, we're toast.

There's no switch, Connor will come out and lay down a duck against the Hawks because he can't find the consistent gear.
Watching the Oilers they're not a real fast team, they don't play fast, they don't react to forechecks that well.
If they arrogantly believe that they can have Chicago walk in and they'll simply beat them. Good luck, the Hawks are the relaxed underdog, the Oilers have Staples pressure on them.
This was the broadcasters making a excuse for him.
As for the Flames, they need to be way more consistent, but they did some good things, but there was no real emotional investment in this game.

Considering how awful the first was, this actually hasn't been discouraging. The second half of this game has resembled actual hockey.
