Flames have been the much better team.
They just need to work on their execution, as usual. They can't seem to put it together when it counts.

Flames playing fine. Just going to need some bounces against Jets to get some early confidence.

I think its pretty safe to say that the Flames are a mediocre team. But I think they can beat the Jets, who are also a mediocre team. However, they'll need to make the goaltending battle fairly competitive, which will require a pretty solid performance.

Does tonight count? I'm thinking it really doesn't.

Calgary dominates for about 35 minutes. Can’t buy a goal yet now it looks like an Oiler blow out.

I hate losing to the effing oilers. Even in an exhibition game.

They got better as the game went on, and some players (Gaudreau, Monahan, Dube, Bennett, Brodie) looked better than they did to end the regular season.
If the goaltending can be better than it was for these goalies first game in 4 months then it should be fine.

The second and third period flames have looked fine.
It is an exhibition game. A win or a loss doesn’t matter. Goaltending is definitely a bit of a concern though as is some luck in finishing our chances

I've actually been really encouraged from the Flames effort. Granted I missed the first but the Flames dominated.
Awful bounce on the 3rd goal and McDavid doing his thing on the 4th.
Of course execution offensively is a concern, but the effort and possession has been there.

I couldn't agree more,. They have been extremely fortunate to capitalize on some bounces, but have otherwise looked like garbage in spite of the three-goal lead.

Overall not that concerned, Flames the better team for about 48 minutes of the 58 minutes so far. And, we aren’t playing the Red Army in qualifiers.
But Rittich still has the yips and need some secondary scoring, just like last playoffs.
