Definitely. Gus is a tremendous piece to have, but he needs to be used right. How many 3rd pairing defencemen are capable of 60 points at their best. I want him back if he'll take a reasonable price, his offensive skills are abundant.

Chucky with a great job in front on that goal. Without the screen that goal does not happen.

Koskinen is good for Tippets style, same as Talbot would be. Block and keep them to the outside.

I hate playing Edmonton when they are holding the lead.

Before this forum I thought Ron Maclean was pretty well liked. Jesus. I love the guy. Canadian broadcast legend that put up with Cherry's BS for decades

I'm not saying that, I'm going on how these reviews typically go. We've seen far less called back.

Not sure about what hot takes you mean? Flames look Meh. Oilers, yes I hate them, but feel they have the adequate pieces and coaching to make their hawks series a quick one.

I don't usually have any issue with MacLean at all and I think he's a nice guy who makes too many puns but his stubborn refusal there to accept an opposing argument when he's supposed to be the mediator of the panel was off-putting to say the least

Ron back to his rambling, Cassie saying a lot without saying anything, Friedman trying to stir the pot with goalie interference and claiming Koskinen is sharp and Chicago should be worried because the Flames didn’t test him. Hockey is back.

I've never been much of a fan. He was at his best when he'd subtly troll Cherry, but he's a glorified Gene Principe with his puns to me.

I don't want poetic pandering in my broadcasts, which is part of the reason IDGAF about Hometown Hockey.

The irony is it’s sounded like Cherry saved his job on a couple occasions in years past when CBC allegedly wanted to punt him.

Hard to not think it may be true considering they tried to replace him with George Strombolopolus.

I see the argument, but damn did Tkachuk play that so absolutely well that there's no way they could overturn it.

Unlike a vocal minority on the board, I like Ron MacLean, but that was a bad call and stance to take. How, Ron? Uh, maybe because it's entirely possible to weigh each side on a very ambiguous play?

He was great before he started drinking the Oiler kool-aid.

MacLean is the worst part of Canadian hockey coverage. I really don’t complain about hockey personalities, but if that conversation happens - it’s Ron. He brings nothing to the broadcast.

Give his job to David Amber and Leah Hextall.

I don’t think you can take his comment there too seriously. He even said it’s just an exhibition game.

Some fans get riled up when it seems the announcers are “against them”. The trick is to revel in it IMO. Easier said than done though.

AC put it the best way for me. I always thought I enjoyed Ron with Coaches corner, but got damn do I despise Home town hockey.

You think if there was some redeeming quality I'd at least be okay with it.
