			Yesterday Practice Lines:
Johnny Gaudreau - Sean Monahan - Elias Lindholm

Matthew Tkachuk - Mikael Backlund - Andrew Mangiapane

Milan Lucic - Derek Ryan - Dillon Dube

Sam Bennett - Mark Jankowski - Tobias Rieder / Zac Rinaldo

 Mark Giordano - TJ Brodie

 Noah Hanifin - Rasmus Andersson

 Derek Forbort - Erik Gustafsson

 Oliver Kylington - Michael Stone

 David Rittich

 Cam Talbot

Yesterday Ward indicated the tentative plan was that both Rittich and Talbot will play tonight. He also indicated that there a few guys pushing for spots that might get a look.

The Flames look very determined and have owned the Oilers there the last few meetings. But in reality, who the hell knows. That's just my guess.

Just remind yourself it's meaningless. It's warm up for both sides.
 |
The final score of the game is meaningless for sure but I imagine this game means a lot to Talbot and Rittich as if one of them has a poor outing it may cement them as the backup.

That is my guess as to exactly what we see tonight minus one of Kylington or Stone. Also if someone is knicked up a bit with a soft tissue injury.

Teams will be allowed to dress one extra forward and one extra Dman because there is only this one tune up game. Gonna be very crowded on the benches.

30 degree day in Calgary today for the first hockey in over 4 months.
Jammed packed day of work, tee time at 3:08 should be home in time for puck drop. Really looking forward to the last 7-8 hours of the day

Ward frustrates the hell out of me with some of his decisions. Hey, that Lucic/Bennett/Dube line was lights out in camp, let's put Ryan back in there instead and demote Bennett to play with Jankowski who have shown no chemistry whatsoever! Smh.

Get to sleep!

If the rest of the tourney falls to pieces and never happens, I can rest easy if tonight goes ahead.

To me, Flames vs. Oilers IS hockey.

Was that line really "lights out"? They looked fantastic in the first scrimmage that the players had had in months, but then were much more quiet in the second game after everyone else had gotten their legs under them. It sure didn't sound from those reporting from practise that they were as consistently dominant as the first game highlights suggested.

I'm hoping we get playoff Bennett and not regular season Bennett, starting tonight.
Guy was arguably our best forward last year vs the Avs. Hopefully he picks up where he left off.

Also interested to see Talbot vs Rittich. I have no idea who I would start in game 1 vs the Jets, so tonight will be a great litmus test if we get full lineups out of each team.
