Not sure how we can live in an advanced stats age and have pundits pick this team to do anything. You literally have to be the most superficial analyst of all time do so.
Will they still be that team? Guessing yeah, given their blueline and how that likely is the biggest reason they are spending too much time chasing the puck. The big factor is their goaltender and whether or not he can continue to put lipstick on a pig.
The other side? A truly middling hockey team that is exactly what they should be ... 16th, a bubble team. Add into that a higher risk of a face plant because of how the team's core mailed it in last year.
Are they mentally strong enough to do the things they need to do to win? Because last year we saw even Giordano abandoning his game and backing in on goaltenders creating chaos.
Two broken teams.

The bold part is a big reason why a large part of me says that unless the Flames find that mojo from the first 3/4 of the 2018/19 season, Treliving should do a quick tear down if the right deals are out there.

Too bad I can't be in the stands to heckle him with "Other Connor" repeatedly.

I have noted this several times already, but I continue to think that playing in front of an empty building bodes well for this Flames team, who appears to struggle with expectation and emotion. Because of the circumstances these playoffs will be much more about skill and structure than they will be about adrenaline and desire.
I am guessing that teams who play great on the road will be the ones who play best under the current conditions. No team will be able to feed off of the rabid crowd as Colorado was able to do when they played the Flames in their own building last year. No team will be crushed by the expectation and anxiety that the crowd presents as the Flames were in the tinder-box of fan-fuel that suffocated them in the Saddledome.

The Flames were +11 as a team even or shorthanded for the last 20 games of the season Over the whole regular season the Flames, as a team were -93
The Jets were +33 as team over the whole season and were +80 as a team over the last 20 games
I really don't see how the Jets are the worst team 5 on 5 when they have better results playing ES (5 on 5) than their opponents.
Especially over the last 20 games when they added De Melo and Eakins and Beaulieu. The only line up change the Jets will have is Adding Lowry in place of Harkins.
Both teams were among the very best in the NHL since the All Star game.
I prefer to think of this series of a battle between 2 good teams that got things sorted out over the season rather than 2 teams that don't deserve to win.
Whoever wins between the Jets and Flames will be a even up match for the next round.

I am guessing Ricardodw added up the plus/minuses for each player.
Which would mean that each goal for gets you +5

Yes. Such a clear demonstration of his understanding for how hockey works,

Is this were Ricardo finally admits he's a Jets fan? I don't know if that's ever actually happened?

Rendering of what the arena will look like when action resumes:
Here's the full-size version: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EdqKGycU...name=4096x4096
If you look closely, it appears the Oilers have 4 McDavids. 1. The guy on one knee near the shooter (Toews?), 2. The guy checking the guy who appears to be Kane, 3. Second guy from the left on the bench, 4. Fifth guy from the left on the bench.
Also, Hitchcock and Quenneville appear to be coaching the Oilers and Blackhawks again.

Did Pat Maroon tee up that one timer for Toews?

McDavid out position in the defensive zone, and Draisaitl with the give away to Toews. Looks like they perfectly captured the Oilers

I also like that the Oilers are being out shot 26 to 14.

Clearly not a true rendering, Mike Smith would be flopping on his belly on the goal line.

You're looking at results, and I'm talking about how they are playing. The Jets are one of the worst five on five teams in hockey and saved by their goaltender; as I pointed out with their PDO.
Using your last 20 games
xGF%
Flames 12th
Jets 28th
SCF% (Chance splits)
Flames 17th
Jets 26th
High Danger Chance Splits
Flames 7th
Jets 29th
PDO
Flames 11th
Jets 6th
Winnipeg had the third highest save percentage during this time period ... my point from the beginning. Calgary had the 27th ranked save percentage.
It's all about Hallebucyk. The Jets are a mess otherwise.
And I don't see either team as "Good". The Jets are a tire fire and the Flames are a bubble team.

Also there would more likely be 5 Hawks in the zone and 3 Oilers, not the other way around.

Those benches are short. Makes sense for the oil since they have so many McAvis playing 30 mins. Chicago must have half the team out with COVID.
