I see some big comparable things between Gus and Kylington.

That was a ridiculous report. The Vancouver media guy should be publically shamed.

I think it's almost a guarantee that Dube and Robinson had a positive test, and the 2nd smaller group were all exposed to one or both of those 2 but haven't tested positive themselves, so they are taking precautions by separating them for now.

Gonna be tough keeping these young ppl in check in regards to socializing. They should be sequestered and more strictly if not already.

Unfortunately the team should be under hotel arrest if they want games played.

No half arsing it.

Dreger also jumped on the conditioning/fitness band wagon which appears to not have been the case at all.

You know what would end the speculation: telling us exactly why the groups are split. It's not that hard.

I've said it before but I find the communications strategy from our club baffling 99% of the time.

I dont mind. Its not really our business to know. We are just here to watch hockey.

I like the Flames cone of silence. Few things get leaked and if they do its usually from the other team.

The NHL and NHLPA has made it clear that injury information or virus related information is to remain private, it is part of the RTP they negotiated.

Yeah Friedman said on 31 Thoughts today that as far as he's aware the NHLPA specifically negotiated as part of the RTP the right for covid privacy.

Though of course we've still seen some confirmed positive reports anyways, but not from the teams themselves.

Have other teams provided that information since Monday, when the Phase 3 restrictions began? All I've seen are the same "unable to play" notices from other teams that we've seen from the Flames.

Does/can Gustafsson play right side at all, similar to Brodie for example, or does he mostly just play the left side?

He plays the right side quite a bit. Good at it too. Played on the right side opposite Forbort here.

Is there a one-stop source with this information for all teams?

Y'all I get the need for privacy for individual players and their medical histories. I would never advocate for them saying "Dube tested positive twice and negative once, Robinson positive 3 times" etc. But simply saying "Group B has been split from Group A due to potential exposure to positive covid individuals" leaves plenty of room for medical privacy while also being transparent and cutting out fan speculation. Just my $0.02.

That would not stop speculation. Its a no win situation right now. Say nothing, people speculate. Give info, people speculate.

Wasn't sure where to put this. Basically, experts are slamming the NHL and NHLPA for holding training camps in COVID hotspots like the Southern US:

https://www.tsn.ca/nhl-training-camp...-say-1.1496246

Quote:
Dr. Michael Silverman, a London, Ont., infectious disease specialist, said it was "crazy" and "reckless" for the NHL to stage training camps in states where infection rates are rising so rapidly. Dr. Jeffrey Kwong, an epidemiologist from the Dalla Lama School of Public Health in Toronto, called the NHL decision “mindboggling.”

The number of documented Covid cases is rising in 41 U.S. states.

Dr. Sumon Chakrabarti, an infectious disease specialist at Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga, Ont., said he would advise the NHL against having training camps anywhere in the U.S. right now.

“Community transmission is an important metric for Covid and right now in the U.S., it’s nuclear, it’s gargantuan especially in Florida,” Dr. Chakrabarti said.
Hard to disagree. I'lll bet Bettman is holding his breath until he can get everyone into Edmonton and Toronto...
