I recall him saying at the time he didn’t noticed. He watches the puck.
Nah he roofed that, love the sound. This clip is better as it shows it happening live with the sound, doesn’t skip to slow mo.
Thanks. Funny thing is I always remembered him as roofing it, then made that comment based on the replay in the earlier post.
Weird seeing Nolan so young (and in 4x3), I think of him that 1 year here, salt and pepper beard, in Flames gear. Crazy to think he got 45 points in 59 games the next season in Minnesota.

I’ll be honest, when you wrote that and I watched that clip... I thought he went low too. And my entire memory of that play was shattered for a few minutes!

This feels like a bit of a deep cut, but this player actually had 7x 20+ goal seasons and played 938 games. 83 games in his last 2 seasons across these 4 teams:
Correct. I would have thought he just kind of vanished to Europe straight from Boston (only ended up playing 5 games in the DEL at the end, seems to have retired age 34 due to various injuries).
It certainly isn't a Stajan-type silver lining to a trade, but he did produce 23 (in 51gp the year of the trade), 27, 27, and 22 goals in Boston. Missed 60+ games one other season.
(I presume Hasek would not have been terribly pleased. Probably smart enough not to be mad as the unpressured shooter in an all star game has an advantage not afforded to shooters in time sensitive real competition. It was flashy and looked awesome from one view, but can also arguably be viewed as a dick move by Nolan.
Obviously Nolan doesn’t call a goal in a real game)
Plus I think Nolan may have pointed up and shot down
He only pointed because at that point in the game Hasek had been standing on his head and had stoned the opposition. He wouldn't have done it if it was the typical "light em up" ASG.
For some reason a random video came up that I saw and it showed Mike Vernon... as a Florida Panther! Had no idea that ever occurred. Only knew he played for us and Detroit. Who else did he play for??

San Jose. He was there for two and a half seasons before being traded to Florida.
Then, he was claimed from the Panthers by Minnesota in the expansion draft, but was traded back to Calgary before he ever played a game for the Wild.
