A threesome? /jk

Or... there is a book I think called "101 Nights of Great Sex" or something like that. Each page in the book is a sealed envelope. Half are meant for him, half for her, and one finale envelope for both. Each week, or however often you choose, each person tears out an envelope, and follows the instructions inside. Most of the envelopes have instructions to carry out throughout the week, leaving little clues around the house for the partner to find, increasing the anticipation of what might be in store. Perhaps, you could get the book, and lead things up to actual Valentine's Day. We got the book as a gag gift for an anniversary, but it turned out to provide a lot of, um, fun.

What's a good gift if you aren't married to the guy and haven't been really going out that long? I am thinking something not sexual.

Ohhh. I thought you wanted a GOOD gift idea. Just kidding.

I think at this point we revert back to... does he like hockey?

I think she's in Ottawa though. So that'd be quite the gift.

I cook 5 nights a week every two weeks catering to his wants. (He cooks 5 nights a week for the other two catering to his wants) Sex, of most varieties, is not something out of the ordinary. The man doesn't drink.

He hunts, fishes and camps. That's it. That's all.

I need something fabulous. Something wonderous. Something that will bring a smile to his face in 10 years when he remembers. (and the threesome is out because the line must be drawn somewhere) More ideas?

This could be a bit expensive, and would depend if he likes all fishing, or just certain types but...

A cabin on a frozen lake where you can do some ice fishing? If it's a nice enough cabin you can also do some of the romantic items that would make a Valentines day great for you. Who wants to ice fish at night, so out comes the candles and bubble bath? The two of you get away for a weekend, do some fishing, get some loving and both have a great weekend.

If he's not an ice fisher this of course won't be as great a gift.

The fact that so many guys are calling for sex as a gift tells you they must not get it without special occasions.

If you have a half decent sex life already, then get him something and he will appreciate it. Not flowers and candles etc. but something in his interests.
Even a guy who is not romantic can appreciate a good gift. We all like something.

This isn't bad at all. I'll have to look into it. There is a budget, but it could be stretched...

This is along the same lines as Kaon. Although again, depends on what kind of fishing he likes. Has he ever fished the Crowsnest Pass area? If he's a fly fisher, and of course depending on budget, I'd highly recommend a guide trip out in that area. He could do a walk and wade, or a float trip. The scenery is amazing. Plus, while he's fishing you could still have some options to entertain yourself while he's gone. Here's a link to the fly shop down there, owned by Vic Bergman... http://www.crowsnestangler.com/ The prices are listed there. Good luck with whatever you wind up doing though.

Isn't V-Day all about the ladies?? What is this "For the man" stuff??

Just find it odd that a lady feels obligated to do something for the man on V-Day..

I'm single, but still... I wouldn't care a bit about getting something from a girl on Valentines day, it'd be all about making the woman in your life feel special. no??

I mean outside of some sexy time... Which HAS to be obligitory if you've been with someone for a signifigant ammount of time.

I got it... A tarp, chocolate syrup, whip cream.... Giggity

Get a "Telly Savalas" if you haven't already done that.

Seriously though, I personally don't like getting clothes, gift certificates, cosmetics, or toiletries.

The best presents I ever got were results of the person knowing me well and thinking hard about what I like.

He's a coffee freak, so a really good camp coffee pot...but generally his idea of camping consists of packing a knife, a rod, and change of underwear.

Obligated? No. It's just nice to do stuff for him sometimes. And whipped cream makes a mess no matter what surface you use to try and contain it.

He's generally the chatty one. Although, I suspect, that he's just like you in that the chat is never about anything useful or important.

We've been married a long time. I've tapped my brain out on birthdays, anniversaries, and Christmas's for 14 years.

Hmmm, he's a minimalist, so this may not be appropriate:

Hey, not all women are into the V-day stuff, ya know. I personally think it's a big load of crap. I hate the whole sentiment of it. It all feels very forced to me.

But if you are going to participate, it should be for both of you, not just the woman.
