Yeah Josh Anderson is the exact guy I'd want to target.
Power forward with impressive offensive skills when he's on, but he's coming off a down-year due to injuries mainly, plus he already had a contract dispute with Columbus that didn't seem to go over well between them.
Jankowski and a 2nd for Anderson seems fair. Both guys are reclamation project RFAs coming off nightmare years. Columbus needs help at C, Flames need help at RW.

Getting Anderson would be ok if it wasn’t too expensive, but I worry 47 points is his peak. I always have trouble trusting guys who get more goals than assists while not being a natural goal scorer. You look at his 27 goal year and he had maybe 4 or 5 good ones? Good speed to get behind the defence, but a handful of empty netters and goals that bounced the right way.
A tough 20 goal scorer isn’t something to scoff at, obviously. I’d just be worried about cost.
I just love how Anderson skates. He's fast and really assertive physically. He has a presence on the ice. Where a guy like Lucic is more lumbering, Anderson has a much more graceful and powerful stride.
There are concerns about his shoulder, for sure. I don't think the Flames should give up a 1st or anything like that for him, either. But giving up a 2nd for a guy like Anderson who has all the tools you need and has shown a ton of promise in the past? That's way more palatable to me than doing it for guys like Curtis Lazar.

If thats all it takes I hope it happens the instant the season ends.
Jankowski plays the more important position and has established himself as a pretty solid penalty killer. The gap between the two won't be all significant in a trade. An additional 2nd round pick going to Columbus wraps the deal up nicely in my eyes.
I like Anderson, but also don't think he's much more than a Ferland level player. He's a 3rd line RW on a top tier team in my eyes...I'd love to see him on a 3rd line with Bennett. Simple, fast-paced, smash-hockey.
Even if Anderson doesn't return to being a 27 goal winger, he's still a useful player. He can play on a third line, penalty kill, and basically bang and crash while chipping in some offence. His skating definitely won't embarrass anyone. Like everyone else, I would be concerned about the cost to aquire him.
I think Calgary would prefer to keep Bennett and try to trade Jankowski for something of value instead of letting him walk. That's purely conjectural.
I'm not for or against keeping either, but adding Anderson would make letting Jankowski walk more palatable IMO, he would replace everything Bennett brings, as well as Janko's PK ability.
Speaking of big RWers that can skate, it annoys me that Julien Gauthier got traded and it wasn't to the Flames.
I remember in his draft year, they were talking about how he was born into a family of athletes (his uncles are pro wrestlers), and that his build was like that of a bodybuilder, unbelievable for a 17 year old. Really good hands, but his ascention to the NHL has been a bit slow. Perhaps he will get a better look with the Rags.

I doubt Janks gets Anderson unless you add a middle 1st, probably take something like Bennett and Kylington
a mid-1st? you gotta realize we're talking about a guy who scored one goal this year and has serious injury concerns around him... he's 26 and he has a career-high of 47 points.

Oh man, I thought when you said something built around Bennett and Anderson that you meant putting them on a line together, lol. I think seeing them play together would be fun, but I don't disagree with you.
I do think that management does love Benny, and would prefer to keep him unless he's included in a trade for a bigger name.
