Knew this for a while; was confused why they'd go with the same design team as Edmonton, considering that building has some complaints and its mechanical issues are problematic. I know the Little Ceasars Arena was a building the clients really liked. That said, HOK is a good design firm and I'm sure they'll do something great. They also did the Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta, which is really cool.

Agreed. That silver exterior already looks a bit dated. I was never a fan of it looking like something from an 80's kids sci fi movie.

To be fair, people in Edmonton clamor for anything that resembles the 80's

I really hope it's nothing like Rogers place. The upper bowl is impossible to sit in and enjoy, you can't lean forward even an inch without completely blocking the viewing angle of those behind you, and your knees are up near your ears. Brutal experience for all but the highest paying fans.
Also there is still a washroom problem, and the concourse splits make very little sense. There are huge choke points for accessing the second bowl. I know people who can't even sit in the top bowl because they have a fear of heights and the steep angle is too much for them. I have no such fear of heights and it I find it unnerving/ hardly bearable.
Rogers place sucks. It was built with the principle of two tier fanhood firmly in mind. Also it smells like ####in piss already (though I assume that's just because Edmonton.)

I hope it looks nothing like Rogers Place or the Little Caesars Arena.

It's like the upper bowl was designed for children.

Admittedly, I've never been to the second bowl, so I can't speak to it. Both times I've gone were for concerts, one in the lower bowl, and one in Katz's box. They were great views, but I guess those would be the more expensive spots.

Oh yeah, the boxes are fantastic. Full disclosure that I now only attend events at Rogers in the company box.
The sportsnet lounge is also good viewing, but minimum ticket price there is 200 a seat. Thats for crummy games.
If you're a normal person who wants to take your kids to the game you are screwed.

I've only been to RP once, sitting in the top bowl, and this was totally my experience. It was especially jarring because you start at the top row and have to make your way down. Add in holding an overpriced beer and the worst nachos in history, and you have many more reasons to avoid going there.

I find to walk down the stairs in the top bowl absolutely requires a heavy lean back stance akin to a comedic "pimp walk"

Yup, that place sucks. Would not go to games if it were my home barn.
