Yeah, any comparison between the two is laughable. Any attempt to equate them is to normalise the shockingly unprecedented poor quality of Trump's administration; it's a dangerous distraction. Trump might be the worst democratically elected national leader of any Western nation on Earth in the past 100 years—maybe even longer. Trudeau is simply one of dozens and dozens of poor leaders who do not even remotely approach the sheer megalomaniacal incompetence that characterises Trump.

Absolutely true. People who want to complain about Trudeau have grounds, but he's no Trump.
Another thing that is often glossed over is the major difference between Canada and the US. Canada has historically been characterized by good governance. Not necessarily good policy making, but the day to day running of the country is, and has traditionally been sound, if uninspiring at times. Canada has a strong and stable group of bureaucrats and civil servants that are accountable and professional.
It's easy to find fault and complaining about leadership is a national pastime, but we've got it good compared to the clown show to the south.

Stamkos replied to the idea of expanding the on-ice sessions with the "thinking face" emoji: https://emojipedia.org/thinking-face/
Quote:
A yellow face with furrowed eyebrows looking upwards with thumb and index finger resting on its chin. Intended to show a person pondering or deep in thought. Often used to question or scorn something or someone, as if saying Hmm, I don't know about that. Tone varies, including earnest, playful, puzzled, skeptical, and mocking.

“Personally, I enjoy the way that every platform managed to convey this emoji with an expression that is both thinking and judging at the same time,” Burge says. “It’s not a ‘light bulb above the head’ or ‘thought bubble’ thinker. The raised eyebrow really suggests that this emoji is really for conveying disapproval of an idea, or, ‘I don’t really think that’s the case.’ It is sometimes expressing doubt, sometimes bemusement, sometimes just wondering what the hell is going on. Let's also not forget sneering or throwing shade—I think that usage might be contributing to its increased popularity recently, reflecting rampant whataboutism.”

Basically, it's Stamkos giving a WTF? reaction to the idea of expanding the on-ice sessions only days after the Lightning had to shut theirs down and 11 players around the league were confirmed to have tested positive.
That in itself shouldn't really be surprising, but I found it interesting that Talbot liked the tweet, presumably echoing Stamkos' reaction to the news.

I have friends who are American, and Republicans, and they think Trump is the greatest guy in the world, and anything bad said or written about him is "fake news". Sometimes, when they post their views on social media, I wonder if I can be friends with them any longer.

Nobody gives a #### about political bickering of Trump vs Trudeau in this thread. God, can we please have a political-less talk on at least one thread on this site, least of all the hockey section.
Take it to one of the dozens of other political threads in the OTF please and thank you.

With multiple players and caddies testing positive in the past few days, and other players withdrawing from tomorrow's tournament as a precaution - including a big name in Brooks Koepka - the PGA commissioner has called a press conference in an hour's time.
Could also be related to the PGA partnering with WHOOP to provide players with monitoring but we'll see.

Koepka's caddy tested positive, so I assume that's why he pulled out.
Watched some of the press conference, didnt look like any major announcements were upcoming.

Listening to Christ Jonhston on the FAN on Tuesday he said he expected to have Vegas and Vancouver names as the hub cities. I see today that Vancouver is likely out. Makes me think it will be Vegas and Toronto to have a hub in the Eastern time zone.

Or he's thinking hmm, which 12 players should I get together with?

I honestly don't get how reporters keep ignoring the "don't play in your own city" rule.
If Vegas is in, Vancouver and Edmonton can't, unless they've abandoned that "rule".
