I remember seeing this toothpaste as a young kid while in HK and was shocked. According to Wikipedia, the toothpaste has 75% marketshare in Taiwan, highest in Asia.

Is it charcoal based toothpaste? It could mean that it’s black toothpaste for people. Although why you’d have to indicate it’s specifically for people is odd.

Yep, true. But also how does it matter if he was wearing a uniform or not? Doesn’t US legally allow citizens to carry guns? If he is running away, what immediate threat do they face, that they have to shoot him.

I think the uniform is actually a really important issue. If it's just a guy standing there looking weird (security guards look suspicious kind of lurking around closed buildings sometimes) a poorly trained cop might see that as an opportunity to investigate someone for no reason. But a uniformed guard should obviously be left alone to do his/her job.
Concealed carry in California is all over the place. I would assume LA has restriction on concealed carry. But simply having a gun is definitely a much different thing there than here.

The same thing that has always gone on. Police in the US kill around 1000 people a year. Even if 99% are deaths that everyone could agree was justified that still leaves 1 a month that would be like these last two. At 95% there would be 1 a week. This shouldn’t be surprising since we have averaged more than 1 per year that have been caught on camera.

For what?
This is institutionalized, which is far far far worse, but he broke no law. They got a no-knock warrant, they executed it, they were shot at, they shot back. Everything is, by law, allowed.
Change the laws to stop this #### from happening again, but you can't charge a person if they hadn't broken a law.

Hah I did not know that but it makes sense. Chinese are so racist towards black people but are completely clueless to it.
Also curious to know when you saw it in Taiwan as Darkie? I've been on the mainland for over 8 years now and have always seen Darlie.

I'm sure he'd never have been fired if the whole thing hadn't just blown up. I think if you bust into an apartment in the dark and someone starts shooting at you, most people, if trained to do so, would shoot back. As Oling said, it's basically an expected outcome with no knock warrants.
