Default Your turn on the list (Happy Days)

I thought I would turn this over to you guys to create a list.

Its time for the name your favorite Happy Days character. It could be a main family member, it could be a one off appearance that caught your attention. Tell us who your favorite character was and why. If you want put up the scene that makes that character your favorite.

I'll start with mine.

1) Charles "Chuck" Cunningham

First of all, this wasn't some unknown fade to obsurity actor. Chuck was played by Gavan O'Herlihy. Better known as the jerk Brad in Superman 2, had a appearance in Never Say Never and Willow.

But the character of Chuck is a great character. Why, because one day he went up to get a basketball and was never seen again. Maybe he joined the army like Howard said, or maybe Chuck is part of the house's foundation, and one day when they reboot the series the first thing we'll see is the bones of Chuck.

After his disappearance the show played up like he never existed (Serial Killerish) to the point that at the end of the series, Howard proclaimed how proud he was of his "Two Kids"

Maybe Chuck dribbled the basketball one too many times.

Happy Days is on my Mount Rushmore of sitcoms along with Cheers, Seinfeld and WKRP in Cincinnati.

The Fonz is the best character not only on Happy Days but maybe the best of any show. I might need to create another Mount Rushmore!

Not to get all Superman nit picky on you here, but Brad was definitely Superman 3. Lots of nice scenes in Calgary and southern Alberta.

Can my favourite Happy Days character be the shark that the Fonz jumps on waterskis, coining a classic TV term in the process?

Spinoff characters

It had to be Chuck, just because he created a whole term based around his disappearance. Characters that just vanished with no real explanation, and were never really mentioned again

Mr Turner - In boy meets world, he gets in a motorcycle accident, everyone visits him in the hospital, and then he vanishes and they don't resolve it until the spin off Girl Meets World.

Seven in married with children, just vanished and was never seen again until he showed up on a Milk cartoon

Yeoman Rand - Was a pretty big character in the first season of Star Trek, and then vanished without a word in the second season

Edna from Laverne and Shirly

Laurie Foreman in that 70's show vanished and was only mentioned in the finale when someone asks if anyone had seen her.

Judy Winslow in Family Matters went to her room in the 5th season and was never mentioned again.

Poor Kate Lockley in Angel, she was an excellent character first as an ally and then as an enemy of Angel. She attempted suicide and survived it the writers just ended her without wrapping up her story.

Actually when they graduate form high school, they run into Minkus in the halls, the nerdy kid in Sq who had a crush on Topanga and hadn't been seen since. Cory and Shawn ask him where's been, and he tells them he was in the other half of the school that they don't see on camera.

Then then turn and look in that direction and go "Hey, Mr Turner!"

Boy Meets World also has the daughter that went missing for a season and was then recast. They call her downstairs and she says "Wow, that felt like the world's longest timeout."

LOL, its funny how much I really liked that show. I have to make the confession that I actually really enjoyed Girl Meets World as well.

Mount Rushmore of sitcoms. What a great idea.

For me, I'll go with:

Happy Days, All in the Family, WKRP and the Bob Newhart Show.

Not suggesting these are the greatest of all time, just ones I enjoyed the most. HM's to Barney Miller, Sanford and Son, Mork & Mindy, Brady Bunch.

But to answer CC's question, I have to go with the Fonz. I thought he was a superhero growing up.

Mount Rushmore of sitcoms:
WKRP, Newhart (the hotel one), Seinfeld, Cheers.

Honorable mentions: Growing Pains, Family Ties, Spin City, NewsRadio

Crap I want News Radio to be on my Rushmore but I can't figure out who it displaces.
