I've never seen any of them. I ran a search and neither of them even showed up.

Comparatively, a quick search shows that there are 10 New York Friesin Calgary. There are 17 TacoTimes. Albeit, both of these are typically in malls.
It seems like there are options that would have made more sense than Chipotle or In-N-Out
There was never a requirement for the choices to be available in Calgary or in Canada for that matter.

I should have started with 32 choices instead of 16; however, I would have had people questioning the fast food restaurants that were included and omitted. No way to make everyone happy with a poll like this.

I used this as my initial source to pull names from:

https://www.qsrmagazine.com/content/...chains-america

I weighted A&W (not represented on this top 50 list) and Tim Horton’s higher due to their stronger presence for Canadians

It is hard to disagree with this viewpoint.

Really, it's a big step down in food quality getting this stuff in Canada vs getting it in Asia. Even Tim Horton's is way better in Shanghai. Any time I eat fast food in Canada I regret it.
Actually, I make a point to always check out the McDonald's whenever I visit another country because their menus always have so much more variety than in Canada. They'll have the North American standards we're used to, and then depending on the country, a ton of different burgers available. My favourite McDonald's burger is probably the Ebi (shrimp) burger in Japan. So damn good.

In Korea, they have a bulgogi burger, in the Philippines, they also serve spaghetti to compete with Jollibees and in China, they have fried chicken!

Its been over 20 years since I've had McDonald's. I was tired of bad food, bad service, and never getting the order right.

I made a decision to just give it up entirely.

I'll still go through the drive thru and pick it up for my wife when she craves it. Its 50/50 if the order is correct.

Was happy to see my vote made a difference with Wendy's squeeking it out by one. Whoever said your vote doesn't count didn't vote in this poll haha.

That's such a sad final 4 I can't even be compelled to vote.

What would you have wanted as a final 4? Five Guys is clearly better than the rest of them. Wendys does just about everything better than McDonald's, unless all you care about is breakfast. A&W burgers are good by fast food standards. Subway is... polarizing, I guess, but it's popular for a reason.

I agree with this final 4 much more than some of the other polls recently.

Five guys is better but I’d argue almost a different category, certainly a different tier than the rest. Not as fast, not as cheap

Realy

It is a poll of the best garbage fast food and outside of five guys an excellent representation. The crowning achievement of gluttony.

I’m disappointed McDonald’s lost as they have done the best job of engineering taste out of the food and leaving only salt, sweet, fat, and umami. Get some McDonald’s and close your eyes and see if you can identify any tastes. It’s so well designed to feed into our desire.

But Wendy’s and Subway both do that pretty well to. Subway bread is defiantly an achievement.

Five Guys is the only one remotely belonging there, and it hasn't been the same since the first year they entered the Western Canadian market.

Wendy's consistently surprises me with how overrated it is. The only thing there I like is the Baconator, and that is just a guilt trip in a bag. JBCs are disgusting (but cheap, I guess) and Frosty's have no flavor, yet people out here go bananas for them.

Subway is popular because they somehow successfully marketed themselves as a healthy option. Lettuce on a meatball sub, you've made the smart choice! Look how much weight our pedophile lost!

A&W is hands down the worst fast food franchise I've been to next to Burger King...and that's only because I seem to get ill every time I eat at BK. Wait, that's not fair. Peter's Drive-In is hands down the worst, but A&W occupies a corner of the cellar, too.

So what are the best fast food restaurants?

I like Subway because you can get soup and vegetarian options. Also, it doesn't turn into crap after a day in the fridge and re-heating it unlike fast food burgers and fries. There are also a lot of combinations you can experiment with.

I wouldn't say I like it more than Mr. Sub though.

I'd like to think my vote for Wendy's put it over the top against the McD juggernaut lol.
