I enjoyed the game as I feel the good parts outweigh the bad ones but I must admit I despised the sliding parts. There's nothing fun about repeating a section of a game over and over and over because it's designed with zero margin for error. I've got to the point where I'm over jumping puzzles. Doom Eternal is such a fantastic game but the jump puzzles take you completely out of the fun zone into frustration. I can't count how many times I've found an elusive 1up only to lose it on some frustrating die and repeat jump puzzles. I can only assume developers throw this stuff in as filler to prolong the game because it's simply not a fun game mechanic.

Ya with all the platforming stuff Fallen Order felt more like a mashup of Tomb Raider and Dark Souls than it did a Jedi Knight game. I was looking forward to fighting through waves of stormtroopers and sith, not space slugs and mountain goats. And there's nothing that makes the lightsaber in that game actually feel like a lightsaber, it might as well be a regular sword with the damage you do and very one-note combat
I enjoyed Doom Eternal a lot more, since the combat is much more satisfying and the controls responsive enough for the platforming segments. I do like Doom 2016 more though, they balanced the combat and exploration better in that one, and there were no obnoxious enemies like the marauder

That's too bad - I quite enjoyed this game when I played through it last year. Was one of my favourite games in 2019.
I do wish the lighsaber was more on hit kills.
I wish we'd see a M rated game, where the lightsaber actually took off limbs and caused mass damage (kind of like how the Wolverine game for PS3/Xbox 360 was), but I know we'll never see that

Kena Bridge of Spirits looks cool.
EDIT: Oh and I missed it, a Miles Morales Spider Man game? Yes please.

Honestly most of the stuff they're throwing out looks... pretty underwhelming.A lot of oddball indie-looking games and some stuff that looks horribly animated. I'm sure some of it will end up being cool (I mean who would have expected Undertale based on a preview) but there's nothing really "wow"ing me here.
I still haven't seen a date for console, is the thought still mid-November? Because a lot of this is saying "2021".

hope there'll be some good stuff towards the end because so far ... meh. Lots of exchangeable looking hack-and-slay type of games and weird looking indie stuff.

RE8 looked amazing. Confirmed all the rumours about the setting too, hyped for it!

Ok, Horizon 2 I'm here for. That is going to be ####ing epic. Until that one, I felt like I was being waterboarded with mediocrity.
EDIT: Console looks good - in both the configurations, optical drive or "digital edition" - but it also is so awkwardly shaped that it looks like it can only be used in the vertical configuration. Maybe that's for cooling reasons? I dunno, but it will be awkward to fit that sucked in my TV stand.

console looks neat, but I can't help but feel they deliberately designed it in a way where the look of the "normal" version is ruined by the disc drive. Digital version looks way better.

Completely has that gaming PC vibe to it. I figure it's vertical only because as you said, to keep it cooled down.

In the last video there's a quick shot of it horizontal. It has a "base" that it sits on.

I really liked it. Like that they mostly focus on first party titles and what are probably indie exclusives. IMO one area where they always beat XBox is on the variety of exclusives and titles.
Here's what we saw today:
Spider-Man: Miles Morales
GT7
Ratchet and Clank
Project Aithia
Stray
Returnal
Sack Boy: A Big Adventure
Destruction Allstars (Twisted Metal meets Rocket League meets Fortnite...sign me up)
Kena: Bridge of Spirits
Goodbye Volcano High
Oddworld Soulstorm
Ghostwire: Tokyo
Jett: The Far Shore
Godfall
Solar Ash
Hitman 3
Astro's Playroom
Little Devil Inside
NBA 2K21
Bugsnax
Demon's Souls
Deathloop
RE8: Village
Pragmatia
Horizon: Forbidden West
Great variety and mixture here.
Also I personally really love the look of the console, especially the all digital edition. They did show a quick glimpse of it sitting horizontal for those worrying that it was vertical only.

Haha no doubt..GTA Online ruined everything. Where's the motivation to make DLC's and new full games when your 7 year old game is still pumping out money almost like it's a new release? I want my GTA VI: Vice City!
Any word on the price of the PS5 so far?

Any guess on what this is going to cost?
PS4 launched at $399 CAD, then got bumped quickly to $450.
PS4 Pro consoles go for $499 CAD
I'm thinking this is going to clock in at $599 CAD for the base model.
