Are you that type of person that thinks a game is over after the first period? That's essentially where we are here. I hope it happens but this is just an announcement at this stage. Lots of hurdles left to complete and even the players have only agreed on the format;
“We voted strictly on the format,” Dubnyk explained. “In other words, ‘If we are to come back, this is how it’s going to be played.’ But we have not even touched on logistics or cities or travel or testing or how the economics will work or what this quarantine bubble [the players are] supposed to live in will be like or any of that stuff yet.
“Nothing else has been voted on … yet.”

if I heard properly though regarding the draft, if all 3 picks are won by one of the bottom 7 teams there will be no more phases. But then 8-16 will be settled by reg season pts percentage?

Good to hear they haven't gone ahead with the proposed bracket. Still up for discussion, and it sounds like the players want re-seeding to take place (which is the right way to do things IMO).

I am going to guess Columbus in the east and Vegas in the west
I'm guessing they'll stick to one country for the hub cities so as to avoid any border crossing hassles and keep things as centralized as possible. Even though they'd be safer up here in regards to the virus, I highly doubt we'll see any Canadian cities picked. It'll be the U.S. for sure.
Interesting that it's 7 in the west and only 3 in the east.
Not that surprising considering population density...

Probably, but if they go ahead with a 2 hub plan, it would only mean 1 team having to cross the border at the finals.
At this point, I bet they are still hoping for a possible scenario where [some] ticket sales may be possible by the round of 8/4/2. Round of 4 might not start until August, which is almost as many weeks away as the start of COVID (ie. lots can change)
