Only 1 of those reporters felt the need to temper expectations this morning.
The rest did their job by informing us of the news conference today and what would be discussed there.
Also lol at the David Staples availability above

I don't think there is anything wrong with tempering expectations. The reality is that the NHL coming back this summer is far from a done deal.

We all know its far from a done deal. Thats been drilled into us for the past 3 months. Now they have a presser where Bettman wants to discuss the format and probably will have other news and clarification for the masses, but instead of just saying there is a press conference Eeyore LeBrun has to chime in with the same song & dance he does with almost every tweet.
I won't belabor this any further. Don't mean to derail. It just bugged me.

I heard on TSN Vancouver radio this morning that speculation is it will be 15 teams included in the draft lottery. Which I completely agree with.

Makes sense. I can’t see Montreal or Chicago being happy if they get swept in the qualifier and miss a shot at the lottery. For any team really.
