I’m not all that familiar with the financing of the new stadiums in Sask and Winnipeg (and Ottawa? Toronto?), but what would those cities do if the CFL can’t continue? If they’re on the hook to repay costs through ticket taxes, etc, doesn’t it essentially become a “bailout” for those teams/cities in particular?

Yeah the way I see it Sask and Wpg absolutely need the cfl to continue or the city/province will be facing a massive stadium bill. In Wpg’s case it would be yet another in a long line of stadium bailouts due to the issues with construction and poor cost management.

With not much to fill those 10 to 12 dates that fill the places, yeah, the Stadiums would have to be bailed out by the multiple levels of government because the ticket taxes would be a lot less.

The death of former Stamp Mike Labinjo in 2018 has been changed to being under suspicion circumstances after new information has been received.

Photos of the suspects and the missing rings here: https://newsroom.calgary.ca/michael-...ed-suspicious/

The rings were from the 2004 Eagles NFC championship, and of course the 2008 Stampeders Grey Cup.

That's so sad. Seems right out of a Fargo plot.

How the hell did it take them a year and a half to determine this?

Mike was walking a tightrope in many aspects of his life by the end unfortunately. Sad to hear this but not particularly surprising to hear this news.

Went back and watched the highlights of then 2008 WF.
Labinjo forced a fumble near the goal line, then later, made 1st and goal and 2nd and goal stops, forcing a BC FG.

Stamps won by 4 points, so either of those plays earlier in the game, won the game.

I think you can ask Jiri, but when we were doing GoSTampsGo radio back in the day we always referred to Mike as the hot mess.

He always looked sloppy, his jersey was all over the place, he wasn't in great shape, but he could play ball.

Labinjo was an absolute beast for the Stamps for a few seasons. I'm sorry to hear that he fell on hard times after his career ended.

So I applied for a role with the BC Lions, I doubt I'll get it, but if I did would that mean I'd have to switch alliances, or would I become a secret agent?

Go get it cap...loyalty in sports is almost entirely limited to fans and ownership only.

Its a dog eat dog business.

But the secret agent angle is interesting.

Are you going to be Mike Reilly’s backup?

Go for it Cap...and you don't have to change who you love. I've worked for great sports organizations whose teams I rooted against.
