At least half the wives married a hockey player for the money and lifestyle. So I am sure they wouldn't mind if their husband is off making money and not at home.

Non fact based, sure. But I would hardly call it "horrible".
I have friends that have wives that can't wait for them to go back to work on the drills, they are stay at home wives.
To think that some NHL players wives don't feel the same way is pretty ignorant.

Friedman's 31 Thoughts today has a bunch of tidbits on what the restart might look like, including a discussion about how the games will be broadcast (everything is still up in the air): https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/...eason-resumes/
It's pretty clear there are still a lot of unanswered questions.

The original statement is ignorant.
Relationships are complicated. Trying to guess why hockey wives chose their partner is arrogant, let alone stating a specific stat.
Should we assume that anyone who married a wealthy person did it primarily for the money?

I agree with Ignorant, just not "horrible".
I wouldn't assume that a "insert a certain number people" are with someone for money, but some certainly are (that's all I mean't).
I'm sure dissentowner was just being exaggerative, it's not like he just started posting today.

Here is a blurb from an article today about the Penguins.
Also, my conversations with Jim Rutherford, Mike Sullivan and Mark Recchi in the past week have made it clear that the Penguins are preparing as though the season will resume — perhaps just the postseason — in July. There is a sense in the Penguins’ organization that this is going to happen.

Really? Stop being politically correct when we all think it.
Look at guys like Brent Burns wife? Does she even give him the time of day if he is not a high profile hockey player? Not a chance. None. Same goes for any other high profile famous career. It is obvious why many of these women are with these guys and isn't because they happen to meet in a random public place and they thought he was cute. There is a reason there is the phrase puck bunnies. I don't have a problem with it, the player gets the trophy wife that is way out of his league for any normal guy and the trophy wife gets a lavish life of luxury. But don't try and play Captain Morale here, we all know this is the reality.

You do not speak for other people especially myself, and as for the players wife’s I doubt they are as shallow as you.

Nice double down
I’ll stop playing Captain Morale when you stop playing Major Misogyny
You are saying that they won’t mind their husbands being away because they all married them for their wealth anyways
That’s an incredibly ignorant and offensive thing to say

No, I said half. I didn't say all. The difference being is you think it when you see it but then post the opposite on a message board to be politically correct. I don't. We all know trophy wives are a real thing. How is stating an obvious fact incredibly ignorant and offensive? It isn't. That is why an ugly toothless hockey player can get a gf/wife that if he wasn't that high profile athlete wouldn't get the time of day. Are all women like that? Absolutely not. But are a lot of the girls that end up hockey wives or gf likes that? Obviously.

So when you see an obviously unattractive dude who is famous in some capacity with a young hot gf/wife you don't think that? Sure you don't.

I don't want the first games back to be a playoff game. They need to do something to get sharp.
Although frankly given where Flames are in the pecking order, chaos could be our friend.

I mean Brent Burns and (most) hockey players are attractive in their own right, as well as being athletic, driven, and some mix of all the other qualities human beings look for when marrying/dating someone, but I’m sure the guy sitting on the Internet spending his time arguing about what attractive women want is definitely the expert. Like, for sure.

Well this is just flat out sexist.
Why don't you just flat out say women only want men for their money.
