Default mother days gift ideas in the time of COVID

With Mother's day coming up and thinking of ideas for her in this time. Not like I can pick something up at the mall, and never been good at online shopping. Just wondering what everyone else is doing and if anybody has some good ideas.

You can make a nice meal for her. Something above/beyond regular dinner. A multi course meal with salad/soup, mains, dessert of all her favorite dishes. Or get a little more adventurous...Fondu, a picnic in the park, etc.

you could hit up superstore (yea... i know.. but where else can you go?)

they have cards, fresh cut flowers/potted plants
pick up stuff for a really nice meal

we've been dropping meals off at my mom's place since mid-march (she usually came over for diner 3 nights/week pre-covid) so we will definitely be doing up a nice meal for her on mother's day.

for my wife... pretty much the same thing, except i'll get our kids to make up some cards for her (they are 7 and almost 5... so the cards have a certain kind of awesome to them... what mom doesn't want a coloured in picture of a monster truck?!?!)

I have a weird approach to Mother’s Day; I have never bought my wife anything because she’s not MY mother. The kids always got money and advice from me for their mother and later gave me advice on what to get for my mother.

Last year my mother passed(at 94 with no regrets) and this year the kids are banned from visiting so the best gift will be a Group FaceTime.

I'll probably do takeout from a restaurant she wanted to try and get some flowers delivered (for my wife). My mom/her mom we are just postponing until we can have them over for dinner.

Chocolates

My wife has been collecting acrylic photo blocks which have collections of our family photos - I was going to get her a couple of those as we've missed making them the last couple years.

tough one. I'm ok for my mother, but I don't have a clue what to do for my wife.
I never ever buy flowers, so I thought my daughter and I could give her flowers with a homemade card attached. maybe add in a sleep in with brunch in bed.

I told my mom that we'd do a family dinner once this thing is over instead of getting her some bauble.

I am going to make my mother something again. This year I'm going to make one of those learning towers so she can cook with her grandkids at the counter.

I’m thinking of one of those digital photo frames if I can buy one (Amazon?, but I like to support small businesses). My wife would like that.

You have to hook it into the water supply.

Panties.

Edit: Lol. Sorry, I mean for your wife if you have kids. I haven't had a mother in a very long time, I forgot that people get gifts for their mom and not just their child's mother.

Normally, we don't really exchange gifts among adults in our family, so it's always a nice dinner or go shopping, just do something together.

This year, I ordered a bunch of little things off Amazon and put together a little personalized gift basket of stuff she likes, make up, perfume, cozy socks, books, etc.

I'm getting my mom an Amazon tablet to use as an e-reader, since she mentioned how annoying it is having to wait 3 days to organize curbside pickup at the library these days

Why not an iPad? It likely does more and lasts longer.

And there is a kindle app for the iPad, if that matters.
