I think you mean a PDA, not a handheld (handhelds are typically game related).

As far as PDAs go, they have been out of vogue for a long time. Sony stopped making them. Everybody is switching over to integrated systems with phone etc.

I think blackberrys are the way to go. Actually, just wait for an iPhone!

Well, Blackberry plans are expensive. But if you need access to your email 24/7, I guess a Blackberry is the way to go.

I'm a fan of the Moto Q, and I've heard good things about the Palm Treo 700p or 700wx. The wx and the Moto Q are both windows based so it may be a smaller learning curve for them.
