This seems like a bit of a new area when it comes to voting as we are out of the primary NHL numbers.
There are still some interesting battles ahead, but some will be pretty quiet.
One like 32 works ... there are a handful of support players to argue about, but take say #43 ... do we really want to vote on Travis Brigley, Ladislav Kohn, Brennan Evans, Joe Piskula, and Christopher Breen?

Voting Cale Hulse as Dany Heatley's counterpart in my highschool's celebrity list. Interestingly Cale Hulse made the wall of fame, Dany Heatley did not.
Maybe because the accident, but it seems there was plenty of time before that. Maybe just a case of a principal caring back when Hulse played, with a new principal not having something like that on his radar when Heatley played.

yeah there are still some pretty key numbers left for sure- but hmm. two a day for the randoms? I'm sure this will divide into 2 camps. could probably make a case for a no vote for any number not worn by a player who played 50 games or something ? but I am sure there will be a contingent that wants every number decided...we should check with the site owner probably
as for this one, gotta go Lydman. I think I always liked him for than the coach/GM did , but add another to the 'if he was only healthier in the playoffs (finals) in 04...what might have happened.
I guess passing mention to Paul Byron
and now we get to assess Cale Hulse in his primary number

So this weekend brought goaltending clarity. the first team could definitely go into battle now but we know there are 2 and possibly a few more reinforcements coming. Hard to know where team 2 ends up but at least there is a full roster now
FIRST
Roberts Nieuwendyk Iginla
Gaudreau Monahan Fleury
Tkachuk Otto Mullen
Pepper Conroy Lanny
MacInnis Gio
Suter Sarge
Regehr Phaneuf
Vernon
Lemelin
- one of these goalies has 3 days to live
SECOND
Huselius Nilsson Loob
Cammy Jokinen Hudler
Tonelli Langkow Lindholm
Plett Yelle Hunter
Reinhart Musil
Engelland Brodie
Bouw Sarich
Riggin
Tabby
- these netminders are 12th and 13th all times in Calgary Flames wins. time will tell if they end up here in the end

I voted Hulse but would like to change my vote. I thought Lydman wore a different number, so like with Iginla with #24 I ignored it. Should have done Google image search before voting, not after.
My actual vote is for Lydman.

Lindberg has to be up there as one of the most boring/useless players ever. Seriously, what did that guy do? Didn't put up points, didn't hit, didn't fight. Maybe he played on the PK? I don't know, does anyone here have positive memories of him? I guess he had a spot in NHL 94, but did anyone actually use him? Even with Line Changes on?

There's a wall of fame now? Damn, now I wish I did more with my life.
I went to high school with Hulse. I think I had a couple classes with him over the years, but I don't really have any memory of him.
As for the vote, I guess I'll go with Champagne Toni.

I don't think Lindberg was really going anywhere as a prospect but came to prominence on the National (and later Olympic) team where he made a name for himself. What I recall is he had speed to burn, but without even the hands of the Lombardi/Byron/Ranheim family- which in the end doesn't take you far

Really had high hopes for Jon Gillies. Backed up John Gibson at the World Juniors. But never really could consistently dominate at the AHL level, and seemed to struggle in the NHL. Too bad -- seems like a good kid. At least he got his first NHL win, and who knows if he'll be able to eventually mature into a NHL backup down the road...

Lydman gets my vote but I thought about Sullivan. He nearly made it based off his guest appearance at my Elementary School in the mid-90’s. Seemed like a very good defensive forward. Nonetheless, I always liked Lydman and was sad when we got rid of him.

Didn't Lydman have a nickname in '04?
I can't remeber it so maybe I'm completely off.

Once this is over, some interesting ideas (at least to me) for a daily vote.
1. Best year by a Flame at a certain age (can be broken down further by position). Though I think this will be won by a limited group of players.
2. Ranking for teams that CP hates the most or likes the most after the Flames.
3. Best flames player from a province/state/country/region etc.

All I can get

Rik Wilson played all of two games as a Flame. Probably the laziest player I've ever seen at the NHL level. Just lobbed the puck to the other end. Ended up traded to the Hawks about a month later for a guy named Tom McMurchy.
Went with Lid...er... Lewd Man.

Lydman played more games, although Hulse definitely spread his out over a longer time period (mostly cuz he sucked)

Yeah he was on the Eric Lindros Olympic team that really grabbed the imagination of hockey fans. I really enjoyed their run.
He was a great skater, but never developed other parts to the game such that he could do anything with that speed. The Flames liked him enough that they traded back for him when the Sens claimed him in the expansion draft (flipping Mark Osiecki for him).

I voted for Mike Sullivan, because the only signed puck I have is his.
